the chaos theory implies that every little thing that happens inevitably triggers chaos and destruction, here Muse is giving us an optimistic view - if it can build up to destry, then why can't it create? the urgency in this song is so beautiful |

I think it's about a destructive relationship: "She cuts my skin and bruise my lips She's everything to me She tears my clothes and burns my eyes She's all I want to see She brings the cold and scars my soul She's heaven sent to me" but no matter how much she hurt him he still loved her, and ironically, when she finally leaves him, he hurts even more, because he still oves her "love burns inside me" I think he knows their relationship was destructivem and knew it was best to get out, but he really didn't want to, and his pride: "Never thought I'd rather die Than try to keep her by my side" |

yes, this is a very special song, the drums the drums! and the lyrics, so very perplexing. i used this on the soundtrack of a short film i made, it traced through the journey of my main character. in the beginning i had "I want to be someone else or ill explode" at his lowest point, then various happennings until "I'm ready". i don't really understand the part about guns and sandwiches, the first time i heard these two words one after another it made me laugh, because here we have such a beautiful song, and here the lyrics are so randomly thrown together. it adds to the quirkiness of it, and i really like it that i don't completely ubderstand it. |

To define "love" is not easy, hence the bold title "Love Is" is a little bit ironic. This is someone defining her own version of love, a bitlike how we attempt to interpret songs and then yell at each other for getting it "wrong" when it's all so subjective, not wrong or right. So here, she is saying don't force it, because love isn't something tangible, and definitely uncontrollable. She is saying don't bother, just go with it. |
