The Mars Volta – Cassandra Gemini Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The Weakerthans – Aside Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Rely a bit to heavily on alcohol and irony. Get clobbered on by courtesy, in love with love, and lousy poetry." So potent, i saw them perform this live, so much passion and the most polished act i've ever seen. A song that is so hopeful and optimistic that it's the complete opposite of a lot that's out there today. |
Frou Frou – Let Go Lyrics | 19 years ago |
there is beauty in the breakdown the most gorgeous line of the song, i think this is hopeful in showing that there is beauty in everything in life, even in a breakdown there is something we can salvage. |
Coldplay – Don't Panic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I always have felt that songs can make a movie. The way "Don't Panic" was used in Garden State gave me this feeling that I just couldn't get over. How the line " we live in a beautiful world" was matched up with the title and the guitar riff behind it, it's just a gorgeous song and worth the listen |
Modest Mouse – Edit the Sad Parts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It is by far the biggest understatement to call Issac Brock the greatest lyricist ever. He says everything we wish we could and embodies the lonliness and isolation that we feel in everyday lives and puts it into his own metaphors and turns things we normally see as dark into masterpieces. This is by far his best work for the first lines alone. We have all felt like that but never have been able to say it. |
Modest Mouse – Ohio Lyrics | 19 years ago |
To me the line that sticks out is the same as previously mentioned, "Rows of lights to illuminate lines Why don't they turn them off and let us see night Drove crazed grooming my lies You can't look in on one way eyes" To me this is much deeper. I feel that it means that we shouldn't shed light or try and figure things out that arn't supposed to be. Sometimes things need to be left how they were intended, Just Live. |
Ugly Casanova – Cat Faces Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I like rolands spin on it but for all who thought issac is the mastermind behind this, hate to rain on your parade. Although some of his genius may be behind it, the concept behind Ugly Casanova and this album lies with a derranged Modest Mouse fan who broke into a show, they found a notebook full of poems and lyrics and I guess Issac struck up a deal with this guy and used his notebook to make "Sharpen Your Teeth" with lyrics like this though I'd like the fan to keep writing more |
