not necessarily to this song or to any song of BB's in paticular, but maybe as something in general (and im ducking from the stones im afraid might get thrown at me here!) but my mind is kinda comparing BB and Linkin Park .... this one is pretty deep in a lot of ways from what I see. Im a pretty new BB fan so forgive me if im totally off, but things are often simple and we make the hard and fuck them up. WTF mate? I get that all the time. What the hell is the matter with you? What the hell is the matter with me? Why does it all have to be so hard? Im living it up while im falling from grace theres no way, no way that im running away. - So yeah, im having a good time, im fucking it up - I know im doing it, but im not gonna stop. let me fall from your good graces, the good graces of the public, the good graces of god ... i'll get back up and keep walking on cause im not running away no matter what I do, no matter what happens. just my two cents .... ;) |

I dont care if its a cover of an old song or something he pulled outta the air at 3am ... this song has it all right. There are those of us who live to listen to the music and dream of being the guitar man and there are those of us who are the guitar man. Either way, the music is still where it's at. It's what we live for. Living vocariously thru music ... umm yeah ... thats me .... *shrug* As an additive .... this is my 5 year old daughters favorite song right now. Im sure it's got nothing to do with song meaning and its all about the crazy cool beat ... but it's hellishly sweet to hear her singing it in the back of the car! |

What I love about Cake are the metaphors. .. ok ... and to the naked eye, the seemingly sensless dribble of lyrics ... This is one of my favorite songs on the new cd. Maybe I just feel like my life right now is like end of the movie ... where you obviously dont want to sit around and watch the credits roll, but imma tough survivor so I sit and watch it all go down to the very last. After all, Have we loved if we havent lost? Have we lived if we havent stuck it out to the very end? |
