I saw SM in Worcester MA and she sang this song. She indicated it was the saddest, most depressing song she ever wrote (words to that effect). Then sang a new song about her new husband/family - which was just the opposite (upbeat, happy). She looked great and happy. This song is about reality (to me). To coin the words from the Gin Blossoms: "Some rides don't have much of a finish". "what is this love that keeps me coming back for more when it will only end in misery" |
