This song is open to interpretation. That's what Brandon said.When he wrote the song however he had one particular person in mind his "el Guapo" (I think Dirk or Caroline Murphy)he said the song was inspired by the El Guapo character in the movie the Three Amigos. This character is a megalomaniac in the movie.
The video however is about Bush. Incubus didn't come up with the idea for the movie though, Floria Sisgomondi did, it was her interpretation of the song
