If your not Australian you cant truly understand this song. Of course lee harvey is right, the song is full of our slang, this song is our version of a patriotic song. For some reason when we are out in the bush we can smell a storm coming, you can just tell one is coming. this song makes me remember all the times i have been out in the bush when its raining or the feeling of looking up into the australian sky and seeing the southern cross in the summer around christmas. This song is about him travelling in another country! Bombay and Brussels arent in aus, and hes meeting up with aussies in other countries and they make him feel like he's home.

115 posts and they all say the same thing...THE USED ROCK! I LOVE THE USED! Blue and yellow mix together to make green if i am not correct and green is the colour of envy or jealousy, jealousy burns a hole through everyone who feels it. "i should've done something, but i've done it enough", seems like he does not see the point in saying something to the person making him jealous because he has "done it enough". It doesnt really tie into the rest of the song but i think this song has something to do with jealousy. |

Probably the beest joy division/new order song, the vocals are perfect and the chorus is absolutely chilling. I love how Ian Curtis could make a song so much more just by the way he sang it, every joy division song has so much meaning its a shame that people have to go to the brink of suicide to become such a lyrical genius. I wish he was still alive so i could have another 50 favourite songs. |

I completely agree with Razer666 about the polar relationship, that hits home on so many levels! When your significant other is depressed and they rely heavily on you its like they suck up all your happiness and fill you full of all the shit that is making them depressed, and the guilt at seeing other people make them happy is so suffocating and shattering and leads to massive feelings of low self-esteem and low self-worth. 'I wont allow any happiness'.. this sounds like the narrator becoming jealous of his girlfriend and other guys cause they can so effortlessly make her happy and this hurts him so he stops her from seeing them.........
