actually, i'm pretty sure the splitting up the kingdom part is about louis the pious, who was the son of charlemagne. although alexander the great did have three main regions of his empire, his sons weren't old enough to rule after his death so they were divided amongst his generals. louis the pious had three sons who waged war against one another over the frankish empire even before their father had died, so he divided it into three roughly equal portions. haha, sorry, history lesson. but i agree about it being angry. it is kind of a spiteful & ironic song because if "shit" was replaced with "ship", it would be sweet & romantic, but since it is "shit" it's kind of an anti-love song, perhaps after a break up or something. |
