Eleanor Rigby...if this impacts anyone or changes their views please tell me it is soooo important. Eleanor Rigby is a nun; yes, but she is also A PROSTITUTE. The face that she keeps in a jar by the door - Her make-up, she is a different person when she leaves her house. She picks up the rice at the church because she can't afford much food because she is a whore. All the lonely people - People who are lonely are usually the ones in need of a prostitute. Where do all the lonely people belong? They belong in Church, hence the reason the next stanza is talking about Father MacKenzie. Why would he care that there is nobody there with him? He's a Priest and Priest are not allowed to have sexual relations, he's used to it. She died in the chuch, well she worked there. The dirt part has no real meaning, only that Father MacKenzie was the last to touch up her grave. No one was saved - People wanted to be saved and have salvation before death, but since prostitution is a sin, how can you be saved if you're having pre-marrital sex with a stranger? The last Ah, Look at all the lonely people...." - They belong in hell for committing sins. Eleanor Rigby was a prostitute. |
