The Smashing Pumpkins – Tarantula Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that the song is about being a rock star. Billy has been looking for love his entire life and when he is on stage, performing to adoring fans, he feels a level of acceptance that he is not accustomed to. However, the lifestyle is very demanding and he feels conflicted. He wants to love and be loved but he is afraid of sacrificing his own musical and emotional integrity in favor of being popular. It seems appropriate at this stage; Zwan and his solo effort were not received favorably, so he has returned to crowd-pleasing stadium bombast. It partially sounds as though his heart isn't in the lifestyle but he is desperate to be accepted the way that he was during the Pumpkins' heyday.

Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound of Silence Lyrics 18 years ago
According to wikipedia, this song was written in response to the murder of Kitty Genovese. It makes sense, really.

Bruce Springsteen – Thunder Road Lyrics 19 years ago
Simply an amazing song. I can listen to it forever and not get tired of it. Bruce truly captured an experience here that just about everyone can relate to.

A pretty simple song to interpret, but amazing nonetheless.

Bruce Springsteen – Badlands Lyrics 19 years ago
Along with several Bruce Springsteen tunes, this song is perfect to listen to when driving. I thing that the lyrics are relatively self-explanatory, but it is still a great song.

The Cure – Lullaby Lyrics 20 years ago
Well, the obvious one is that this is about sexual molestation.

Another interpretation I have is more different. I am certain it is not the intended meaning, but I have always thought that this song conjured up the imagery of an alien abduction, and the anxieties that an abductee faces.

Ozzy Osbourne – Mama I'm Coming Home Lyrics 20 years ago
I usually don't interepret lyrics this way, as most people seem to be of this opinion about every song ever written, but this song really reminds me of the painful aftermath of a relationship. I am sure that was not Ozzy's intention, but that is what I get out of this piece.

I see it about a person who felt alone and lost, but found someone who showed them kindness. Anyway, the person who showed them these feelings ends up leaving anyway, and for years it is difficult to deal with, but now, they are finding finality. Maybe they are reunited, or maybe there is just forgiveness and moving on, but the person is going "home", to who he/she truly is.

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics 20 years ago
I'm sure this song is not based around this, but I relate the lyrics to the Albert Camus book The Stranger.
