awww i love this song, not as much as i love gwen, but yer it's all good. it's got that laid back country type feel to it-kinda sheryl crow/shelby lynn. when i first heard it i immediately thought 'tony kanal' and i kind of hoped that it was about him because it shows that they're both happy :D yay. does anyone know if she definitely wrote it? hoping she did. and yes O.C. music is good, i watch about 5 mins every 2 months and know what's going on in it-not cuz its one of these progs where the storyline lasts for ages, just because nothing ever happens. but my friends are all obsessed and listen to the music. does anyon know who wrote the hallelugia song-we used it in our drama coursework and then i heard it on my 5 mins of viewing time, but even the oc freak in y drama group doesnt know who wrote it. please enlighten me :D |

Heard the song on the radio earlier and I was just trying to remember it-it took me a while. Searched for lyrics on here because google was being mean, and I needed to find out who sang it cuz I forgot and it was driving me crazy. Woop panic over now :P |

i heard the live acoustic version before the original, so that's what i always think of and, even though i own both, i always find myself listening to the acoustic. Maybe it's because i'm used to it, maybe it's because it's just softer and easier to relax into. But yes, liv, i do love the acoustic version too :) |

it's about me and my ex boyfriend (we split up about 2 months ago) we are young (i'm 15 and he's 19), and i didn't tell my mum about him because i knew she'd say i was too young to spend as much time with him as i wanted to. he had to pay the rent on his flat, so was always working, and i always spend my money before i've got it! whenever i was down he cheered me up. i went through a tough time with my family when i was with him and i left home for a bit. i was scared so i went straight to him. he has long(ish) hair (which i think he's had cut since we split up) he always held my hand. we were going to go to wales to climb hills and mountains and stuff. and the list part at the bottom all relates to how we were. dammit i need a boyfriend again! :P |

if you look at the pictures by the lyrics that come with the album 'Chorus', the one opposite chorus lyrics is of a skyscraper with some surveyors standing in the foreground, suggesting that they have built this monstrosity in a landscape where you can see trees in the background, but which have been covered by the building. There is another picture of a white beach with turquoise water and blue sky-very idyllic, and then one of some business people, which may symbolise man taking over the world and it ends with a mother and daughter riding bicycles down a path through a park, showing how man and nature combine. |

to me, it's about this girl i've fancied for a while now, and recently i became really obsessed with her for about a month. i listened to the song and realised that (after the first two lines) it really related to how i felt about her. she's so perfect and out of my reach, and i found out last week that she only hangs around with me because she knows that i fancy her and it's an 'ego-boost' for her. this really hurt me and i cant look at her anymore (why the first two lines dont work) the first 4 lines of the second verse is how i've felt about myself for a while now, and i expect many people do. everybody wants to be special to somebody, and its often channelled to one person. because of this, you end up doing anything for them (verse 3) and it just makes you feel wrose because you realise more and more that you cant have them. i think it is also about living imperfectly in an imperfect world, as cassia said, and most people can relate to this too. its quite an easy radiohead song to understand, and quite an easy song to understand in general. it does sound quite juvenile in a way, but also sounds liek he just had really strong feelings about something or someone and wanted to bluntly let everyone know, and by writing the song in such an easy way to comprehend, more people will feel what he is trying to convey |
