| Dispatch – Prince Of Spades Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Every time I hear this song, I picture the king sitting on a throne on top of piles and piles of gold and treasures while he counts his diamonds. The wife comes storming in, telling him that he's wasted her life, yet she's forced herself to stay with him for reasons not known. Their son is returning from somewhere soon, and will one day have to take over the King's duties. The Queen tells the King that if he must do one thing for her in his life, it is to teach the Prince how to be king, though the tone of the song (and the refrain) make it sound like this is hopeless, as the King is too preoccupied with his wealth to care about his Kingdom / family. This is just the image I get, I know Braddigan has his reasons for writing the song, but this is the image that pops up in my head everytime I hear it. |

| this song really reminds of the novel 1984 for some reason. i feel like bits and pieces of the lyrics relate to Winston and Julia.... | |
| Dispatch – Flying Horses Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The Flying Horses is a carousel on Martha's Vineyard in which a ring is situated so that if you are able to grab it, you get a free ride on the merry-go-round. The rest of the song sounds like it could also be situated on the Vineyard, and might refer to a summer on of them had there. | |
| State Radio – Fall of the American Empire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| All i can picture when I listen to this song is a bunch of politicians as well as all the characters mentioned in the song: Lucy (from Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds), Quinn (from Quinn the Eskimo), the Mad Hatter, Sally (prostitute), and a rock star from Boston at a party with tons of politicians. While they're having the party, DC is being bombed in the background or just generally being destroyed while they go on unaffected. Well, at least that's the image I get. | |
| Relient K – Jefferson Aero Plane Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I'd rather not think of this as a breakup song. Considering the title, and the lyrics, the majority of the song seems to be a mishmash of odd lyrics that don't really fit together... much like the surreal and psychedelic lyrics of bands like Jefferson Airplane. In the end, though, during the last stanza i think they're trying to say that they're able to get by without things that give fake highs (aka drugs or "jefferson airplanes") and "got with them all that they need" (God, friends, faith, etc) |

| Primal Scream – Country Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Honestly, I think this song is just as direct as everyone thinks it is. It's taking every country song cliche and packing them into one song. The more i listen to it the more i love it | |

Ok well let me just say this is the first entertaining music video i have seen in a long time. The song is average, but the video is hilarious. "I WILL BE SKINNY" cracks me up every time. Just for people who are iffy on who it exactly makes fun of i think if have a list of all of them: Mary-Kate/ Ashely Olsen: In the beginning when she is looking to buy a dog. Pamela Anderson: I'm not sure if this is just a retrospect tease like the tanning salon, but this was the first person who came to mind when she's in the plastic surgery scene. Lindsay Lohan: when she's in the car and hitting people...hilarious. Paris Hilton: of course, in the night-vision bed part. Jessica Simpson: making fun of her video "these boots are made for walking" by tumbling over a car like crazy. this was pretty funny too. video: ***** song: *** idea: **** |
