Flight of the Conchords – Foux du Fafa Lyrics 17 years ago
Holy shit, this song is so funny. I speak french but I am at a very beginner level and you can tell they either took a little bit of french or just had a beginners book or something. It's so awesome.. What you first learn when you are learning french... the supermarket and orange juice... the word for library... Pool, etc... amazingly funny.

The Format – Faith In Fast Cars Lyrics 18 years ago
haha. I am aware he changed it. I like the "I just wish you had died" a lot better. Bitterness makes the world go 'round!

here is a link to a youtube video where he sings the original version, if you are interested:

Bayside – Winter Lyrics 19 years ago
Holy God, this song is sad.

It's seriously the saddest thing that they lost a member of their band. But it's great that they are able to move on as a band, and keep producing music (the rhythm still goes on).
I agree that it's extremely appropriate that this song is acoustic. This is a great tribute, and I bet Beatz was a great guy...
"in life and death you've always stole my heart."
This line tops them all for me.
It reminds me of a friend who died, even though she died in a completely different way. But it was November. . winter never brings anything good.
"these nights in vans." awh.

The Format – Snails Lyrics 20 years ago
the first part is about his dog, nico.
i love the part that says 'god damn you shrubbry.' you know he had to think about being a snail for a while to actually say that.
i'm not sure about the 2nd verse. it seems like someone died, but then i don't understand the part about winning the lottery.

Bright Eyes – Hit the Switch Lyrics 21 years ago
I think he's saying that he's a goddamn hypocrite because he's praying in the first place. But maybe he means it in both ways - he prays to a God he doesn't believe about a cause he doesn't believe - which would make sense, too.
I like how, even though most of this song is based around his drinking problem, you can relate to it a lot of the lyrics even if you don't.
I'm sorry I didn't comment on this sooner.

Bright Eyes – Easy/Lucky/Free Lyrics 21 years ago
it sounds like he's talking about the world getting nuked and everyone knows about it, but instead of being worried they are just celebrating it like they would a new year.
"I set my watch to the atomic clock. I hear the crowd count down till the bomb gets dropped."

Does anyone else think so?

Bright Eyes – The 'Feel Good' Revolution Lyrics 21 years ago
this song is so unbelieveably good.

I was laying on my bed talking to my friend one night (at a slumber party. indeed, my friends and I STILL have slumber parties even though we're all well into high school and a few are in college). We were talking about how we don't want to grow up, you know? Just stay this age forever. And then came a silence (not an awkward one, but you know, just one where it's comfortable because you have nothing to feel awkward about)
And this song was playing in the background, and when we stopped talking it said,
"we can hang out all night long
lay in bed and talk to a good friend
because you only get older and you probably forget what it is like "

and it's so true, you know? I can relate really well to this song.
I think it's mostly about growing up and relationships. Relationships with friends and girls (in this case) And even though it's not hard to read into or anything, it's still very good.

Bright Eyes – Loose Leaves Lyrics 21 years ago
first off ; A Perfect Sonnet - just because someone doesn't comment on this song doesn't mean that they are not a fan of Bright Eyes. Don't be so stuck up, you arrogent fuck. I realize that post was made over a year ago, but I feel the need to address it.

And, about the song. I also don't understand why you guys would think the whole thing is about summer. only a part of it even mentions summer.

I think it's obvious that the song is about growing up, and missing his old life, even though he accept that it's gone, he can't help but miss it. It's about how they're growing older faster, about how when he was in High School the days went so slow, and he couldn't wait until summer came. It's actually pretty self-explanitory if you read the lyrics...

The Format – Wait, Wait, Wait Lyrics 21 years ago
At first I had a hard time understanding these lyrics:
"These roads are paved with plans we've made,
and your headboards never felt so safe.
Well they'll reach our graves,
where your friends and I will kill the lights,
and hide, oh what a nice suprise. "

I didn't get the "well, they'll reach our graves"
But (I think) he's talking about the roads that they've paved, which is a symbolic for the road of life. And I think he's being sacastic when he says "where you friends and I will kill the lights and hide. oh, what a nice surprise" because it's like throwing a surprise death party? I guess I don't really understand that line as much as I though, but I still think it's meant to be sarcastic/ironic.

yeah. I wish someone else would post what they actually think. The "Oh, I love this song" posts really get on my nerves.
