my goodness, what an amazing song. It's like a lullaby wrapped cozily in a love song. "I can say the world is beautiful" that line and the way he sings it and the accompaniment of the instruments with it always drives me to complete awe. It makes me think that maybe this crazy scary world has something to offer. Maybe things aren't as bad as they seem. Heck, maybe behind every terror there is a face and behind every statistic there is a name and a history and maybe behind every hate there is a person and behind every act of violence there is hope. Maybe this world that has gone so horribly wrong isn't ugly. Maybe there is beauty that must be digged up like treasure and held onto tightly like a child in our arms. Maybe that knowledge is God's gift to us. |
