jim morrison was a child who threw tantrems and after the fact tried to explain his antics. adults or men usually do things then face the consequences while jim hid and contiues to hide like a fucking child while others sort through the shit pile that was his worthless existence and is his worthless estate, why anyone would idolize this fucking idiot for his infantile behavior is beyond me. It's time people stop applauding for pampered self indulgent children who think it's fun to make a joke and mess of their lives and run and hide for other people to make sense of their nonsense. |

The thing that is great about foo fighters is the simple fact that Dave Grohl's face can always make you laugh. Just thinking about it makes me chuckle, he reminds me of your best friends older ugly sister who plays chess and knits. He's a pretty nice guy though :) And Nirvana was the madnotes. |

I totally agree with SouthernBelle. Artists like this should be much more celebrated than they are. I don't know anyone that can touch as many live's as a very good singer/songerwriter can, and they seem to do it so effortlessly. I hate to use words like angel or a blessing, but he is both. The best friend I never had :) |

This is classic Elliott. The refrain says it all...all he wants is happiness so what he used to be will pass away, It's like he's admiting he cannot find happiness in life so he's killing himself and ending this lie as he says, it's almost like he's searching for happiness either in heaven or another life. This song, like much of his other work, reminds me a lot of Jim Morrison's music. To artistically and beautifully write and sing songs about the darkest of subject matter--and to many times view death as a new start, something better, a transcendence or way out of a hard, sad, and painful existence; he kind of sets up a paradox. A rebirth if you wil....It's a stretch but I like them both haha. |

I love this song. He encapsulates the entire real of human emotion. The brief care for a girl only to loser her, blaming god for how bad he's hurting and accepting that he may be helpless to pull himself out of what seems to be a bad cycle. It seems like he thinks he has to keep himself away from this girl he really likes, because he'll only hurt her. Its like being aware that you are a cancer or parasite...so he tries to spare her...and it's killing him. Sadly Beautiful. |

The best part of this song is the references to the "chemical embrace...and pure synthetic sympathy that infuriates you...." I think he feels that people are degrading or making light of how badly he's hurting by pretending to understand it. Pain and suffering are very personal things and to have people give an artificial or shallow concern can make things even worse.....like they don't respect you enough to leave you alone. |
