| i initially thought it was a blatant mock of domestic life but... after reading these responses, i decided to read some more about the band to see if i was wrong. judging by the band and their background, this is highly likely a sarcastic song. they have always been traveling, protesting, and hanging out with the likes of devendra banhart. interesting lives to say the least. it could be a cry to want to return to a simpler domestic life, but the way they paint the domestic scene is very boring and one-sided. | |

Im pretty postive this song is about down syndrome. "one uninvited chromosome...etc" "a blanket like the ozone" refers to how that one chromosome protects him from the world and how hard it can be. it also chokes off any deep knowledge connection he could have with others. He has a harsh startling voice that will never be poetic and he just wants something for himself. |
