The Good Life – Needy Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah, this song is pretty good....I especially like the Canadian Club line...not bad for cheap whiskey...

Hawthorne Heights – Screen Writing an Apology Lyrics 20 years ago
Brings back those great memories of my broken heart...no wait, it still is. Shit.

I have a little trouble with this band because some of their songs have really cliche lyrics, but this one isn't bad.

I like the last stanza the best, the allusory of a movie theater. My old love and I used to go to the movies all the time so it strikes close to home.

Hawthorne Heights – Wake Up Call Lyrics 20 years ago
I like the guitar..it definitly has rhythm as it rocks away. The drummer is pretty solid. Can't hear the bass as well, though. Lead sounds like he knows what he's doing.

As for the song...I'm going to have to agree with DangerousBagel. The lyrics are..well, kinda cheesy! Hate to say it, but some of them are so cliche it makes me smile.

Still, that doesn't mean I don't like them. I love the melody lines and the way they use harmony. The only bad thing I can say about this band is the content of their lyrics.

Andreas Johnson – Glorious Lyrics 21 years ago
Yeah, I heard this song a couple years ago and thought it kicked ass. The way he builds up the music is fantastic.

Kind of Like Spitting – We Got As Far As Minnesota Lyrics 21 years ago
I love how Ben can tell a story with his lyrics. I hope I get to see him play again sometime.

Kind of Like Spitting – Something In The Air Lyrics 21 years ago
Yeah, totally. This song uses a lot of 7th chords and advanced structure concepts. I saw Ben live last summer. It was only him and his acoustic, but he still rocked out and showed his worth not only as a singer, but a guitarist.
Anyway, this is the first KOLS song I heard and I loved it.

Kind of Like Spitting – Continent Lyrics 21 years ago
I love how this song starts slow and melodramatic, then cuts to a power chord driven rock part.
To me, the first part of the song asks what point to life there is. Ben's friend, Curtis, had passed away and Ben even says after three weeks no one talks about the deceased friend. Or maybe Ben is waiting to die because life is fragile..."all I do is wait."

My favorite line has to be "My mother used to hold me I hold her now that she's old." It's so simplistic it's genius.

Mike Park – Justice Lyrics 21 years ago
I saw Mike Park play on the Plea for Peace tour here in Omaha. He rocked the stage even though it was him and his acoustic guitar. I can't wait to see him again if he ever swings through Omaha again.

Minus the Bear – Monkey!!! Knife!!! Fight!!! Lyrics 21 years ago
I saw Minus the Bear in concert last summer and they mezmorized me on stage. They rock, but I won't say they are the best band out there. Like SickandTired said, their lyrics aren't great or anything. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing them again, though.

Now It's Overhead – A Skeleton on Display Lyrics 21 years ago
I suffered a horrible break up years ago, and after listening to this song it brought everything back. I both love and hate this song for that. The song is an experience in itself.
