I agree the 1st two lines are most meaningful in this song. He's saying that your life and self are more important than any relationship or love...because when it ends, you are left alone. The song is about someone who fears separation from the one he loves and is in a relationship with. He goes through drastic measures to prevent this from happening, but he can't do anything about it. All the talk of the future they've had together and thinking it would never end was "just a dream." Now he feels he has lost himself, and is forced to start a new beginning. |

all about the free love baby...it's about free love, but more than that. She obviously has feelings for him, because it is implied she is always there for him during hard times, and he's greatful for that. However, they are probably only lovers, and not really "together." A very beautiful, even psychadelic song. |

i def think this has to do with the anger you feel when you are in a relationship, and that person betrays you. i agree with "cut in half" that the it's been real it's been fun....etc part, is genius and beautifully describes the way you feel after all the effort you've put into a relationship, for it all to amount to nothing. |

I think it can be about different timing of feelings between two people. The girl loves him, and though he has feelings for her, he still wants to make sure they are genuine. He later realizes that he's been "asleep for days" and realizes how strongly he loves her. However, he didn't speak up about his feelings, or once he did, she had already moved on. |

wow, i <33 metal love songs! anyway, i think it is about someone who was in a relationship where the feeling wasn't mutual. The girl may have loved him and was perhaps too clingy, and he lied a lot about his feelings for whatever reason. He realizes he is in over his head and wants out, because he is feeling unhappy in the relationship. It's a song about realease....especially indicated when saying "no more head trips." |

i like interpreting lyrics as they apply to me. i believe it is about two people in love that want to (eventually) be together, but know it is not the right time due to things going on in their life. maybe they are occupyed with other things where they need to take time off from each other before they can have such a "strong" relationship. It's such a beautiful, and truthful song that many can relate to. |

i love this song! especially the dark atmosphere..anyway, i think the song is about how we sometimes have secrets that even the person we love most cannot understand due to personal issues such as depression. It can also be how people resist love in fear of being hurt, like they've been before. |
