| Sufjan Stevens – Oh God, Where Are You Now? (In Pickeral Lake? Pigeon? Marquette? Mackinaw?) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I loved this song when DCB did it. But until now I didn't realize that they were covering a sufjam stevens song. As everything I have heard by Sufjan is amazing, if maybe sometimes disquieting (John Wayne Gacy), I must actually get the cd this is on. | |
| Five Iron Frenzy – The Cross Of St. Andrew Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I have to agree with Steven Cimprich about the "catholic" themes, in reality, Chrsitianity and cathoicism are not really very different, so what can seem to be a protestant to one person ay seem catholci to another. And i don't know what denomination the church they were (before breaking up) affiliated with is, but I know it is the Scum of the Earth Church, and from what i have read about it, it seems to be extremely open to everyone from any walk, wihtout being all uppity about it. ANyway, I'd have to say that I have always thought the song was about being so caught up in the appearance of being Holy, or the appearance of portraying God in a non-conformists style "when all your principles were fashion", that you forget why it is that you are trying to be different. You forget that it is not about yourself, but about God. |

| All Time Low – Coffee Shop Soundtrack Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Great soing, great band. However, I have to agree, that whenever I first hear the vocals I think of FOB. Now, Don't get me wrong, FOB sucks, they are overplayed, and the lyrics are just plain stupid, however, the ATL vocals are similar, as are the riffs within the music. Anyone with any lick of sense can hear that. nd yet, there is something about them that is so much better than FOB. And on a side note, I'd like to point out that chances are some of you liked FOB at one point or another, but when they became popular (eg, being played on clear channel radio, and having screaming fan girls) you gave them the boot, because it isn't "cool" to be "popular". Despite the fact that most badns do not seek anonymity, they want to be known and played on clear channel radio. And then someone's comment about the first two being good, that seriously comes straight out of a "How to be popular in the underground music scene" guide. |

| mewithoutYou – Nice and Blue (Pt. Two) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I'd have to agree that it makes much more sense as "a fifth to the commonwealth, and the rest to the track." But i'd have to say I absolutely love this song. I saw them perform it live(I think) at cornerstone festival, either that or I am going crazy. haha. But it was absolutely amazing. The songs they did perform off of Brother Sister were absolutely amazing. And I think that what they mean by 17:1 could be both verse (reference to faith) and odds in horse racing. And it seems that it would be a waste to put money on a horse with 17:1 odds, but that is how it can be when trusting in God. We can't see him and we feel like putting our trust in the unseen will not be as good as putting our trust into something that we can see and feel. So it feels like we have a 17:1 odds, but if we have faith we can win. This is all conjecture, especially since none of the gospel verse at 17:1 make any sense in accordance with this idea (nor even 7:1). Merely an Idea. I'd have to say I love the part where he says: "And I'm still waiting to meet a girl like my mom (But closer to my age)" |

| Todd Agnew – My Jesus Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I agree Jesusgal. Just take the first verse: "Which Jesus do you follow? Which Jesus do you serve? If Ephesians says to imitate Christ Then why do you look so much like the world?" Christians put on a good face at church but then at home, at work at schoool many, not all, take off that mask and replace it with what the world wants us to be. I love this song because it so perfectly reflects my thoughts on the sympotms of christians today, and I include myself in that generalization. I must say though, that my favorite line is: "Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church The blood and dirt on His feet might stain the carpet" because it seems that if we aren't busy mirroring the world, then we are so caught up with the grandeur of religio that we fail to see that Christ wants us to witness to more than the pretentious snobs who have too much in their lives to want to see him. Truth be told, we are all a reflection, as Agnew's CD Title says, but what are you? Do you look more like the world than like Jesus? |

| I love this song, it is amazing and powerful. These original lyrics are far better than the ones released on the album. I wish they had kept them, I love this song. | |
| Five Iron Frenzy – All That Is Good Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I love this song, it says exaclty what I feel almost all the time. Why do we have to be perfect in the worlds eyes to make something of ourselves? It is just the thought of a world where everything is corrupt and basically there is no room for anything that doesn't fit the world's expectations. One of my favorite songs by them. I miss Five Iron, they ought to do a fif reunited tour and play in my backyard | |
| Brave Saint Saturn – Estrella Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i am the second person to post on this.... wow. I can't believe either, it is an incredible song. Almost every time I listen to this I cant help but cry. It touched very close to home for me because a very good friend of mine died at a young age, and well I would always complain to God and be angry with God, but whenever I listened to this song i would remember that he is in a better place and i am merely being selfish. It has definitley touched my life. keep it real! | |
| mewithoutYou – January 1979 Lyrics | 20 years ago |

If I could become the servant of all No lower place to fall This line gets me. I mean, in biblical terms, according to Jesus, aren't we supposed to be servats to everyone? But i was thinking about it, what if it was going with the theme of the song, and was speaking about the rich? mean, in a sense they, having the most money, should be the servants to everyone, yet they don't. They waste their money on themselves, so if that is what he is saying, then that is indeed the lowest place to fall. what are your thoughts? |

by amishman on 12-10-2004 @ 05:02:52 PM I was reading Numbers (in the Bible) the other day and came across Numbers 13:33. "We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them." I love that verse. hey, amish man, there is no Hebrewss 13:33. I checked, in a catholic bible, an NSV bible, a king james and an NIV bible. |

| mewithoutYou – Disaster Tourism Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think that maybe the candle held at midday symbolizes what Satan offers. He offers some joy in the world, but what he offers is a candle to the sun. The sun being what god offers, and the candle being the devils offering. To many christians, looking at a sinner it would be as looking at someone carrying a candle at midday. We don't understand why others are attracted and don't understand how they chose Satan over God. But the sinner doesn't see themselves in the wrong. |

| mewithoutYou – Torches Together Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| lol, I love this song. The meaning is incredibly sad, and it is very unfortunate that our church has become so proprietary that it is like a club, where you have to be a ertain way to join, and if you make a mistake you are thrown out. | |
| mewithoutYou – Four Word Letter (Pt. Two) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Mewithout you is quickly becoming one of my favorites. And not favorite, sorry everybody, because FiF is my favorite because they have meant a lot in my life, and affected the greatest change in me. But mewithoutyou is like my second favorite right now. | |
| mewithoutYou – January 1979 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I nderstand what you are saying sebharper, mbut maybe, "a terrible crash" instead of meaning being a sinner from birht, means one pure that grows older, and becomes infected by the world. And thus has a terrible crash, because they go from being pure and clean, to a state of a sinner, full of filth and scum. And the terrible crash brought him to a place where he was revered by the people of earth, and worshipped insted of giving the glory to the one above. Btw, I love this album, i really knew nothing about Mewithoutyou until about march. A friend of mine listened to them, and sometimes would try to get me to listen to them. But, never having any money, I never went and bought their cd. Finally my friend loaned me their cd, and I loved it. When I came into possession of money, I went out and bnought it immediatley. | |
| Aberdien – The Luminous Cutter Flies Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I really like this song a lot, the rythmn and the actual music is very pretty (I hate using a cliche term like Pretty) and the lyrics are pretty cool. I believe that he is trying to run away from life, but then finds himself being more and more consumed by it | |
| Five Iron Frenzy – Kamikaze Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Great song, love it its pretty awesome how many people who aren't christians can sympathize with a song by a christian band | |
| Roper – How Your Halo Fell Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think you're right. I love this song. Reese is such a good writer and vocalist | |
| Roper – Day Of Pigs Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I dont know if i'm anywhere near what was meant by reese when he wrote this. But I think it's basically saying that people try to contain God, and they proclaim him like christianity is going out of style. But in reality he means nothing to them. thats my opinion. | |
| Roper – Amplify Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| great song. love the opening guitar. One of my favorite songs on this album | |
| Brave Saint Saturn – Heart Still Beats Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This definitley a wonderful song. Bs2 is a great band. Not just because of the artists but the songs. Th Light of Things hoped For is a very melancholic cd. That is very depressing, but in the end you see that the sun will rise on a brighter tommororw. It is kinda the depressed kids testimony. The one who makes it out. But this song just screams this at you. Well maybe not screams. But anyway beautiful song | |
| Roper – Quicksilver Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Its kinda the denial of everything real i think. Like your trying to face the world, but cantYou long to face it, a longing for perfection in an imperfect world you might say. | |
