People who say that Chester cannot sing do not know anythign about singing technique. A man who can scream like he does for most of a concert and then start singing properly (ie Breaking the Habit) knows how to control his voice very well. Other singers out there who do similar things are Burton C Bell (Fear Factory) and David Draiman (Disturbed). Someone mentioned Tool earlier in here, and Maynard has a fantastic voice but for me you cannot look past Freddie MErcury for greatest voice of all time. As for musical talent in Linkin Park, well to be honest there isn't much. They are very good at writing catchy songs that people can sing along to, but musical talent, give me a break. try listening to some Dreamtheater, Queen, Dave Matthews Band, Miles Davis, Vanessa Mae, etc. On to the song. it is not well written. It is catchy but lyrically and musically it is not very deep. It is a very cathartic song to shout along to when you are having a bad day, but personally I think it is one of the weakest songs on Hybrid Theory. |
