Yeah, It doesn't say "maybe it wasn't good enough but again you are not good". That doesn't even make sense.
It says "Maybe it wasn't good enough, but I gave you all I could." That even makes sense and it's the correct lyric. Anyone who really knew, or liked the song would know that one. C'mon now guys, do you actually think he would write something that didn't make any sense? |

I love this song. It's so powerful.
For one thing, integrity is something that you stand for. Something that you strongly believe in. This person who "failed" him, stood against what he stood for. Now he wants them to pay him back. |

This song means alot to me. I relate it to a really, really bad breakup which I once went through.
In everything he says in this song, it sounds like he went through something really hard and over time, he's learning that everything that happened was a lie. At first, he is upset or angry. Soon, that turns to bitterness. In the line, "I cease to resist your sweet lips." it seems like the girl who hurt him, goes back to him, just so that she can hurt him over again and he keeps taking her back. Eventually, he learns that he needs to stay away from her.

I absolutely love this song. This song is the reason I started getting into Most Precious Blood. I love the line "don't lie to me and say you'd die for me." It's just a really powerful lyric. Anyway, I think the message that the song is trying to get across is that this guy made a mistake, a really big mistake. The mistake, as I gather, was trusting somebody. The guy used this person as someone they could fall back on, like a security blanket. And then, one day, this person, who the guy cared for and would do anything for, stabs him in the back.

I absolutely love this song. I agree with WouldItBeYou. I can really relate to this song in the fact of someone stabbing you in the back. It sounds kinda like one of those spiteful things when they are singing "Will it tear you apart?". Like they're saying, "C'mon, is it going to tear you apart, huh?" That's kinda the message I get, kinda spiteful. And the title of the song is After Dinner Payback. So, I guess it works. |
