| Joanna Newsom – The Book of Right-On Lyrics

This is my favorite song of Joanna's, the wild animal imagery, the alpha female warning the male to be careful. Her musicianship on the harp is beautiful, the tune is haunting. If you get the chance to see Joanna in person, you should. She is great. |

| The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics

The song was inspired by Julian's drawing, but John took it so much further. When Julian told John what he had named the picture, how could John not get the big cosmic joke? Lucy Sky Diamonds=LSD. It had to be too funny to pass up. The Beatles were experimenting with drugs at the time and were being criticized for promoting drug use. So John had it both ways-yeah, his son's fanciful drawing, and yeah, a great big wink to the drug culture. |
