i feel he is finally take a step ahead and moving on, he has made mistakes with someone he loved, and that person might not be over it, and discourages him. he is waiting for her to forgive him, but she is just not helping him at all and he knows whats best even though he loves her alot.. thats what i see in this song. that is my opinion.
