If you watch the video, it looks pretty clear to me he sings "we survive what we can't change" which makes more sense in the context of the song. He's saying we live with the stuff we can't change, and sometimes we pretend or fantasize to hopefully keep things from changing.

this is one of my fave Pinback songs. I'm glad they've played it on concert a few times when I've seen them. This band has so many great songs, it's a shame that they haven't gotten more national exposure.

Actually, 764-mouser, their songs do have meaning. I've seen them in concert 3 times now, and every time, there have been at least a few songs that Rob has said "this song is about......"

764 why must you come in here and act like such a retard....do you know the band personally???? If not, you should really keep comments like that to yourself. All songs mean SOMETHING to the person who wrote it, otherwise they wouldn't write songs. Whether they admit that it means something or not, they did have an idea in mind while putting the words on the paper the first time.

ok, just a few changes to the above lyrics. it's "Transmit Hits, with no delusion" NOT Trench Men hits....that makes no sense at all. also, at the end, they say "Let's get ignant (ignorant)" not "let's get pregnant"
