| Red – Never Be The Same Lyrics | 15 years ago |

One of the great things about music is that each song can mean something different to each person that listens to it. That's even how this site prompts your posts: "What does this song mean to you?". To jlmperson, this song might be about a person's relationship with God. To MrSometimesIWonder, this song might be about a person's relationship with another person. The cool thing is you both get to be right. Only you can decide what this song means to you. Personally, I also think this song is about a person's relationship with God. For those that like the band's opinion (or what they were thinking when they wrote it), here's a quote from Michael Barnes, Red's lead singer: "Mike: The song “Never Be The Same” is told from the perspective of people who have a relationship with God. Even though all of us have gone through difficult situations, when we look to God and see how He’s put us back together again and made us whole, we realize we’ll never be the same. This song is an anthem of redemption. It’s about thanking God for helping you and changing your life forever!" Source: http://www.newreleasetuesday.com/article.php?article_id=191 |

Beautiful song. To me, it's about those precious moments where your worldview is shaken and the world seems to literally stop. You experience something physically, emotionally, or spiritually stunning or traumatic that causes you to rethink everything about the world and your place in it. And it makes you feel like you're finally alive - like life finally has meaning. But it's hard to do something about it, and I think this song does a great job relating the struggle that occurs within you at that moment. Because at that moment you have to decide if you're going to change your life for the better or if you're going to go back to living your life the same as its always been, taking everything for granted. Hopefully we choose the internal revolution. Hopefully we choose to evolve. |
