The Matches – Sick Little Suicide Lyrics 21 years ago
I saw them last night, and he explained it to the crowd:

"This song is about our lovely little culture, which makes us get up in the morning, look in out little mirrors, and hate ourselves... Fuck Ashton Kutcher."

Eminem – Mosh Lyrics 21 years ago
You guys, as far as political white rappers go, you're better off listening to Sage Francis. He's wickedly funny and talented. I love Eminem, but Sage Francis annihilates him on every level. Give Sage Francis' "Makeshift Patriot" song a listen for a real politically minded song. It's a song that critcizes the actions of our country after 9/11, but always remains respectful to those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

Michael Jackson – Thriller Lyrics 21 years ago
Man, all I can say is Vincent Price is one scary mofo. Who else can make teenage boys tremble at the mere sound of his voice? Well, who else besides Michael Jackson himself?

Ok, maybe that was a cheap shot.

Say Anything – Belt Lyrics 21 years ago
An amazing song, by an even more amazing band. Say Anything Is A Real Boy is, honestly, the best album I've heard in the last two years of my life, rivaled only by The Mars Volta's De-Loused In The Commatorium.

I'm none to sure what this song is about, but (and keep in mind, I've watched Fight Club three or four times this week) it seems to be an almost anti-capitalist song. I imagine a man, refusing to abide by the system, forced out of society with nothing but that which they can't take away from him- his belt, perhaps a metaphor for the experiences and influences in his life, and all the things he's learned. An outcast from society, he wanders the land alone. In time, he finds that he is not alone. He raises an army. He fights back, ending in a rousing challenge, perhaps to everyone listening. "What say you/ and all your friends/step up to my friends/ in the alley tonight"

I don't know, I could be wrong, but either way it's a great song. The above is just this reporters opinion.

Sage Francis – Runaways Lyrics 21 years ago
I can't beleive I'm the first to comment on this song, but whatever. It's a shame more people don't know about Sage Francis, because of songs like these. Inteligent, articulate, and full of emotion, his songs always convey what he's saying. He's a good artist to listen to when you're having a bad day.

Anyways, this song is about life as an orphan and a runaway. The angst and the fear of whats happening in his life, the uncertainty, the loneliness about his life, its all very well done. Although this song is about being a runaway, I don't know if Sage Francis ever actually was. A great song, nonetheless.
