the song isn't THAT bad (and i'm not even a huge fan of rap..just a huge beastie boys fan and some of em's stuff) it is a little annoying...maybe a lot. and he disses ALL over peewee herman and peewee is like my idol and he disses mc hammer and madonna, which i'm not a fan of. and seriously, michael parodies are getting a LITTLE old...
marshall mathers lp is probably one of the best, if not the best, rap albums. this cd didn't do much for me...but maybe there's still hope. the eminem show had it's good ponts, even though without me annoyed the shit outta me.
hey dude why is everyone coming here if they think the song sucks so much? why does anyone do that? and it's always the same people dissing songs...i'm not getting it.
the only reason i'm here is because i wanted to see if they spelled "ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh!" any differently, but they didn't. my mission is accomplished. |

nirvanajam is right, i love this song and it is still the best, but it didn't have as deep of a meaning. like it's best all put together wise but the poetry behind the other stuff if far greater in some ways. i dunno.

it's about a confused guy in a relationship and how he doesn't know what to do and it's driving him crazy that she's rejecting him and stuff. i agree with forsakenoutlaw57 on most of it. the 'you did this' could be from the fact that she's causing him all this pain and confusion and hes like 'you did this' only then he's like 'i need you so bad..' so i dunno either |

i love this song..i think i already posteed here on another name a while ago but yeah. i love the "fate fell short this time smile fades in the summer brace your hand in mine i'll leave when i wanna" and then that whole stanza section that starts with 'this place was never the same again...' good song.
i wanna thank alex floyd cause hesaid he didn't like the band in a cool way, not like completely dissing everything about them *cough cough this band blows* so yeah. good job on that and i'm not gonna flip about your opinion.

no doubt and gwen kick ass. this song's cool. i know it's not some touching or emotional thing or anything, but the song's kind of an inspiration if you think about it...cause its like telling you to take a chance. i dunno. i do think that instead of saying 'take a chance you stupid hoe' should have been 'take a chance you stupid whore' i just think it sounds catchier. but whatever. but then again it's 'take a chance cuz you might grow' anyways, just a thought |

i heard the song and was in love with it. it almost made me cry. relaly, i didnt think it was about family. i did think that the 'i'll sing it 1 more time to you' line was about not singing the kid to sleep, but singing to someone young or without hope for reassurance. i always did think it was a love song...thanx for clearing up what it's really about |

haha..i agree with atthedrive-in. it's a good cd though. i like blvd. of broken dreams more than this, but whatever. i just hate people who are like 'green day is so unpolitical for writing that song' just cause it's unpolitical to say that we don't have a free country and cant say what we want.
though im all for going in living in canada in my hippie van, i don't totally agree with the song. i mean, yeah, people in america are into media and food and crap but we're not all fucking rednecks for christsake. plus, green day, you just completely shit on yourselves because your americans. so i guess i kinda agree with all of it, yet i don't. i dunno it's just like "you wrote a song about how we love the media and that we believe what the media tells us..and you just relased this song to us, millions of screaming fans who are americans and into the media and who believe what you tell us" i dunno. does anybody understand?
on the whole "bush is an asshole" thing, it's like this: i don't like war, but this isn't a thing we could solve in words. we HAD to go there. saddam isn't some reasonable person or anything. i don't agree with the whole going for oil and going for weapons that weren't there thing, but it's a good thing in the end cause not people in iraq dont have to worry about their leader killing them. i guess in this election, i didn't like bush, but i didn't like kerry, and nadar didn't do anything for me either. oh well, i'm too young to vote anyways, but yeah.
to wrap it up- good song. better album. the lyrics aren't acurate, but oh well. |

this song was SO good, before t became a single they put out. i went out and bought the cd for "out of control" and heard this and thought "this is so pretty.." about 2 weeks later, they started playing it on the radio...
and it was played over, and over, and over, and over
now it's just WAY overplayed, and unfortunately, that has led me to just dread it whenever i hear it. it's such a shame..it was so good... |

God I love this song SO much! It's my favorite Something Corporate song (North is the best album ever!) I just love how it opens:

Very well put, Nemesys. I agree...I also agree with forensics-it doesn't make the song any different!
I think the meaning of the song, to me at least, is to kinda shrug everything off and think life's ok. It's a really awewsome message, really feel-goody. It's different from the other stuff on the CD and their older stuff as well...but I like this very much.
As for the other stuff being said, I agree with paranoidandroid83 when they said it only applied to Float On. I mean, I can't find any person who even owns the CD,besides me, and if they do, they don't even know what the other songs are. It's a challenge to find people who are fans of "Float On" that are also fans of "Ocean Brethe's Salty" (very good song...) So yeah... |
