P.O.D. can fuck off.
I agree with them, but it's not like you need to chant it in a song. Plus, in some cases it may not be, and in some cases, it canhelp more than hurt, in a way. I totaly think that it is murder, every human being deserves a chance. But this song can fuck off. |

| The Weakerthans – Aside Lyrics

"Terrified of telephones and shopping mall, and knives, and drowning in the pools of other lives. Rely a bit to heavily on alcohol and irony. Get clobbered on by courtesy, in love with love, and lousy poetry. And I'm leaning on a broken fence between Past and Present tense." by far my favorite WeakerThans lyric.
The song is quite Shakepearian, and it sort of mocks or critiques Shakespeare at the same time. "Get clobbered on by courtesy, in love with love, and lousy poetry." like the line from Romeo and Juliet, "Love goes to love like schoolboys from their books. But love from love,
towards school with heavy looks." and "Losing, but I'll try, with the last ways left, to remember. Sing my imperfect offering." and "Circumnavigate this body of wonder and uncertainty. Armed with every precious failure, and amateur cartography" are also quite shakespearian. |

| The Weakerthans – Sounds Familiar Lyrics

This was the first WeakerThans song I ever heard and my favorite, it was the first song I ever memorized the words and guitar to, even before my own works. It was also the first and only song I ever got in trouble for, for not ceasing singing it to a teacher as a rebuttal to a statement she made in class. She kept interupting me telling me to stop, and refused and kept on singing, and I proved her wrong, so I got sent down to the office.
God I love this song!!!
"but you must know the same games that we played in dirt, in dusty school yards has found a higher pitch and broader scale than we feared possible, and someone must be picked last, and one must bruise and one must fail." - about war maybe, i think so. |

I do think that this song has a very good chance of being about a deaf girl, "Watch her memories of human voices drown." and "Let every sound consecrate our whispering words that Betta never heard." This song is one of my favorite WeakerThans songs, and all my favorite songs are WeakerThans songs. And all of Fallow and Left And Leaving and half of Reconstruction Site are my favorite songs. |

I agree, great song, my favorite on Reconstruction Site. But I have to dissagree with the brak up theme, the WeakerThans are way better than all those emo breakup song bands, for them being called emo by many people. I think the song is mainly about growing up, and become who you want to be, through all the shit that gets in the way, and how many times you lose your path. But through all the hard times, growing into who you are is worth it. And John K. Samson does write the songs. |

| The Weakerthans – Plea from a Cat Named Virtute Lyrics

What other band can just write a song from a cat's perspective and make it one of the deepest songs I've ver heard. And how clever the "And I'll cater with all the birds that I can kill. Let their tiny feathers fill disappointment. Lie down; lick the sorrow from your skin. Scratch the terror and begin to believe you're strong." line is amazing. This is one of the best songs on Reconstruction Site. But Reconstruction Site to me doesn't even compare to Left And Leaving or Fallow. But it's catching up fast. |

It doesn't get any better than The WeakerThans, And The WeakerThans doesn't get any better than this song. It is one of my favorites, and the line "Cynicism falls asleep. Tyranny talks to itself. Sappy slogans all come true. We forget to feed our fear." is my favorite WeakerThans lyric. |
