i Just read in spin magazine that he wrote this song right after he had carved the word "now" into his arm with a knife, and he jsut sat down at the piano with blood still dripping from his arm and wrote the whole thing. its pretty much about pressure from all aspects of his life and wanting to just live in the moment. |

I love how green day writes about the media brainwashing us, when they in fact are part of this media brainwash! i bet at least a couple hundred uninformed 18 year old retards are gonna go out and vote for kerry b/c thier all the sudden politically conscious idols green day took stabs at the current government. this is a great album, but this song and holiday are out of place on it, they are just bullshit political rants. and if anything, the media has a terribly liberal slant, especially young oriented channels like MTV. no stations talk about the iraqy children getting and education and all the great work the troops over there are doing, but once a civilian dies its all over the news 5 minutes later. its sad. |
