First of all, to SadieG: To me, this song means infinite love. And if it reminds you of your parents, I'm sure they'll be together forever. I'm about your loss.
This song is talking about everlasting love, love that never ends, and being together forever. It's connected and maybe based on the term "soul mate." When the songs says "If there's noone beside you when your soul embarks I will follow you into the dark" means that soulmates is a literal term. This song is saying that maybe there isn't a hell or a heaven, and when you die, you're free to be with the one person you should be with forever. |

"Sorrow drips into your heart through a pin hole
Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound
But while you debate half-empty and half-full
It slowly rises, your love is gonna drown"
Those, to me, are the most discriptive lyrics in the whole song. I think it's saying that if you don't act on love, your love is going to eventually die out, or "drown".
I love the new album, although it may not be my favorite of all their albums, I still love them more than any band out there. |

The glove compartment is a metaphor for his memories/mind. He's searching through his mind and thoughts to recall past happenings. I could go deeper, that's just the tip of the iceburg, but that's how I interpret the song. |

You're twisting my words competely. I heard that it was a compelation of unreleased tracks, not a cd that was to be almost released... So I guess there's just a misunderstanding between us. To interpret that I was saying I would be disappionted with more of his brilliance being exposed is completely opposite of what I was saying before. |

Just pointing out - are you guys aware that there's a new Elliott CD coming out featuring mainly unreleased tracks? How do you feel about this? I'm pretty disapponted, because if he wanted them to be released they would have been. Maybe the song wasn't good enough for him, or he had some finishing touches... I just feel like the songs wouldn't be ... his. |

After my brother died about 5 years ago, coldplay started to mean so much to me, and their songs really made sense to me. When The Scientist came out as a single, I felt like I couldn't escape it, and everywhere I went it was either on the radio or on T.V. There were a couple incodents when I would be thinking about my brother a lot, and then I would turn on the radio or the television and it would be playing. This Coldplay song inparticular reminds me of him and it honestly helps me through some tough times. It's amazing. |
