on the one hand he's saying "use your fist and not your mouth" which is sortof an active kind of saying. more action, less talking. on the other hand he's saying "i woke up today and wished for tomorrow"... i dunno about anyone else, ,but when i'm depressed i pretty much just want to sleep it off. less action. less everything :) so wtf? and then he's talking about the White House, or maybe a typical house (painted white because that's vogue) and damaging it in some way... along with white collar and blue collar... anyways, it's impossible to avoid identifying with this song. so many different things are covered here. violence, depression, anti-style, anti-religion, and even has a class antagonism message with the whole "black collar" thing (or maybe he's just talking about goths). i mean... a person who is looking to identify with a song could easily do it with this one. and it's a catchy tune, so you can "put it in your middle finger and sing along" ... whatever putting it in your middle finger is. |

I'm not religious in any way. I don't even believe in aliens, and the idea that anyone could believe in stuff like that actually disturbs me. Ever see a crazy person talking to themself on the street? Yeah, I get that feeling every time i hear someone talk about Jesus or Roswell... Or when I listen to the lyrics that I'm singing along to from this song! Basically he says that one day we'll be unified under a bright light in the sky, with all of our selfish desires gone. To me this just rings "Jesus will return and you will all be saved" I'll still sing along to it though. It's a great song. I just think the whole value-pushing is a little gross. |
