I heard this song cos someone used it to make a fan video based on a fanfic for Stargate Atlantis called "Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose" (see http://www.kekkai.org/synecdochic/sga/freedoms_just_another_word.html if you're interested). I love that the song, like the fic, manages to convey not only intense sorrow and loss but also a feeling of hope. To me it's about not having any regrets, about being satisfied with the way you've lived and the way you've loved. It's about coming to terms with what has happened in the past and learning to move on. |

this my absolute favourite song in the world, hands down... especially the bit where it goes I’m not borderline I’m not working overtime Cause my life is enough really gets me - it's also about a million times better live, if such a thing is possible. i struggle not to cry every time i hear them play it live, that's how dorky i get over this song |

if just one more person at one more eskie joe gig yells for sweater i swear i'm going to have to knock them unconscious! yes, it's a pretty good song BUT anyone who causes the band to walk off early WILL feel my wrath! give it up, people, they're obviously never going to play it again and why should you complain since they've got so many many other great live songs? |

you'd think this song would be depressing but it's so angsty that u can use it as stress relief - just listen to it and let all your tension and anger pour into the song and when the song finishes it takes all that negativity with it. sorry, didn't mean to go all new age there. won't happen again... |

does ANYONE have any ideas cos i'm drawing a blank. all i can think of is that it's about the false fronts that people put up (see references to makeup and hats (reference to fashion?) etc). the chorus has me totally lost, though. anyway, brilliant song. |
