| Die Toten Hosen – Hier Kommt Alex Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Whoever said Anthony Burgess is Russian must be tripping. As for half the book being in Russian, Alex narrates in nadsat. Yes it is INFLUENCED by some Russian words and then mixed with English slang, but thats it. Awesome song though, thanks for the German translations people. |

| Placebo – Kings of Medicine Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I must be the only person to think that this song is typical placebo, and the only dramatic change I can understand is the trumpets. The lyrics are very typical Placebo/Brian, musical arrangement is fairly similar to old songs and there's still a hint of sinister electronics thrown in at times. Definately one of my favourite songs off the album. As far as the meaning goes i'm not so sure. Like a few of the songs toward the end of the album it reeks vengeance and regret yet with a sense of craving a new beginning. The triumphant trumpets at the end makes me think some kind of solution has been reached. |

| Placebo – Battle For The Sun Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It took me a few listens to really appreciate the greatness of this song and now I can't stop listening to it. For some reason the lyrics reminds me of fight club, and I read somewhere that Brian loves the film. I really do love the theory that this is about a battle between happiness and depression, and an interesting difference than to most Placebo songs is that the narrator is determind that happiness will win. I love it and can't wait for the album. |

| Patrick Wolf – The Magic Position Lyrics | 18 years ago |

this song never fails to put me in a good mood, particularly the lines: And I know how you've hurt And been dragged through the dirt But come on get back up It's the time to live love it. |

| Placebo – Pierrot The Clown Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I get the impression the bruises, swelling and bleeding are metaphorical. Great song, so sad but almost in a contented way. He wants to let go, he knows he is being hurt by this person but he cant let go of them. | |
| Placebo – Post Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i agree with pinkmoon and dylan on this... they've pretty much summed up everything i thought. "the pills that pick you up" - medication, anti-depressants, and "its in your family tree" - depression is said to be hereditary. "tap the vein that bleeds" could be about the drugs or it could be about self harm. "Post Blue" is just another clue because of blue relating to sadness. I get the feeling that the person he is singing to has depression but uses drugs to cope with it all. parts of the song sound like he is trying to reassure her that he is there and would do anything for her to not feel the pain she does, but she seems to push him away "bite the hand that feeds". |

| Placebo – The Bitter End Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Ive always interpreted the line "you shower me with lullabies as you're walking away" as meaning as she leaves him she tells him things he wants to hear, just to keep him happy for a while or soothe the pain he is feeling from the relationship, when in reality its all lies. generally, i think the song is about a revenge suicide after a relationship turned bad. he's only killing himself to make her feel guilty. perhaps she doesnt love him anymore, or she never quite did. i def dont think its a stalker song. |

| Placebo – Lazarus Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song. To me the song sounds as if its about himself, into a mirror maybe, from the 'so bored of being you' line. I may be wrong but thats how i see it. | |
| Sex Pistols – God Save the Queen Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The song was written WELL before the queens silver jubilee - and as Steve Jones says on the dvd, Sid was in hospital whilst they were recording never mind the bollocks and didnt play on it - steve played both guitar AND bass. | |
| Placebo – 36 Degrees Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is just what i think of when i listen to this song - i think its about someone who gets so close to their partner and they've let them down been cheated that in the end the person is left cold a bitter. But if they tell the truth they still want that person back (burning just for you) | |
| All Saints – Never Ever Lyrics | 21 years ago |
