It's called songmeanings.net for a reason, not songappreciation.net. Personally, I think this song has something to do with a long-distance/online relationship. The computers in communicating allows for the science bit, along with the cold hard facts of distance. The latter is causing them to grow apart. And romance? It's what she craves. This is definitely a theme song of mine. Although my explanation probably didn't make much sense... |

@ Diskettes: Your explanation makes sense, but I don't think that's what Conor meant. He probably meant to compare the lottery/paycheck thing to the actual relationship, not meeting the person. Sure, when you've won the lottery you have a shitload of cash. But once you've spent it all, it's gone forever. Whereas while working for a paycheck, you have a steady flow of money, although it's not much. Perfect metaphor for a passionate, but short-lived romance vs. a slightly mundane yet long-term relationship. |
