Oh; and "phynck" I believe "ImBleedingAgain" more than likely hit it right on. His face is burned out in the photos, there'll be no bribes shot at him, no favors will come of it, there'll be no blackmail, no money. He's just THERE in the video. Amusement. And then she's found dead in the end. The whole intro of the song is just a taunt as well. On one hand it's totally murdersome, on the other totally lustful. |

He's screwed up in his past relationships, made total messes out of them. The beginning is sort of like begging for a second chance a "perole". Seems to me that he was a womanizer "I'm subtle like a lion's cage" and this next girl he wants more out of her but at the same time it seems to be going just the same way. The lines where they're dancing just seem obscene, like he's totally going through it once again. "I will bounce you on the lap of silence, We will free up to the beats of science, And girl, you shake it right " I didn't catch the possible drug references until I saw what you all said. |

I see this as more of a fantasy song. Like when I listen to it I get this imagery of two people always peeking over their shoulders at eachother. They just keep gazing at eachother. And with the gazes their minds stray off. Like it always seems to go back to "feast your eyes" "gazing eyes" the emphasis seems to be mostly on eyes. Not so much the sexual intentions. That's my two bits? |

I agree mostly with shfifty_five. Though I thought the drilling was more of an Ambulance angels reference. It's sort of.. Stealing one of Blilie's interview terms "a building of the pyramid of maledom" on the side as well. the line of the couple who lost their first child also made me think of Denver Max, and the Ambulance Angels. Denver Max clearly because the disappearance of the girl. Ambulance Angels due to the total blatant insensitivity and the sort of solution. The bucket of popcorn. The end always has given me shivers. All of the background that you hear, the echoing howl, the large amounts of voices you hear. It truly is "hypnosis." I feel it's just the climax of the CD (Obvious I know) all the songs were building up to this. You see evil after evil, you see anger, just all the darkest most inward feelings of people. People with no respect for anyone, not themselves, no one else, and then this song is their absolute shame. |

tsucool no offense but PLEASE don't call Crimes a dance album. It's probably one of their most depressing works yet... Everything in it is lyrically depressing. Using pain and true hurt to reflect how good their lives really are. In the album it's another song of the sickness of humanity. The ambulance angel's return in the Shame =) |

I agree entirely on the reflection of homeless and the poor. But I think the mayor is more in reference that only the rich become of high status. If you think of it it's true. To run a campaign you need money. You can't become a political leader without wealth. And that's what they're cracking at. I view Junk Island as the "ghetto" the jewels are the people who could be making a difference but no one sees them, because they're just rotting away. They can go through with acts from stealing from the improperly wealthy (liquor stores indescent make loads of cash, mayors who need wealth to gain status, and widows who gain inheritence) But no matter what they do they end up back where they started. Junk Island. Burning away. The children follow the same path. Some end up as disfunctional youth (sniffing paint from bags) and just society turns their head away over and over (yesterday's headlines) even though they know it's happening in the world. |

The end of the story. And a little more. I don't agree with the use of "madness" either. It's just his mental breakdown. Everything is going wrong, everything is going bad. It's all in flames, it's all rancid. I don't feel he KILLED them. more shut them out of his mind. He "killed" them out of fear that they'd "pollenate the flowers of fire." They'd make it worse. Then comes the "death of the past" which more supports he didn't physically kill them. It suggests that he's just expelling anything that was a part of his past from his mind in a rather violent and vivid imagery. Also it's a seperation from his very own mind. The anger, the violence, his past is all seemingly behind him. It seems like he's at a distance. He's displaced himself from his mind. That's my kick at it. |

Because fighting on Songmeanings is cool. No more input for meaning. I find this song a LITTLE bit hypocritical though. A few points from Burn Piano Island, Burn. One: the Blood Brothers were experimenting more with an end which would be more appealing to general listeners. Two: They had Ross Robinson produce it--Well I don't know if any of you know who Ross Robinson is but he's pretty big on making popular listens. Slipknot. .at.the.drive-in. (incasino/outcasino). Ross tends to bring some smaller bands out of the closet. |

...Ugh...Sometimes I wonder how many of you actually listen. It's not "all over the place" the Blood Brothers take an amazing amount of time into choreography. They make it all COUNT. The guitar is chopped to give you this exhilirated feeling, the bass is often simple but compelling.. NOTHING takes a direct lead--except the vocals. The reason. Their messages are strong. Such a twisted woman... But the one thing I cannot decide is if she is actually imprisoned. When I read it--it all appears to be yet another metaphor. It seems like she feels caged within a relationship, so she resorts to alcoholism and well minor escapes like phonesex lines. No matter what--It just further shows the Indescency which runs rampant. |

Not only was there the whole problem of him leaving this girl and taking a new girl.. But he is replaced by some guy he obviously looks lowly on. Which would probably why they chose a garbage-collector for the character? beer-stained apartment. Just not the best of people--And he got Jane, whom obviously was a good girl.. But not as attractive as number two. "And the sirens are laughing underneath your skull. And your thoughts are turning dull, callous and cold." The accident haunts him, it is turning him cold.. Making him a rather dark person. This song has such a depressing mood to it, so it kind of makes me angry when I see people saying they want to dance to it? It is also my favorite song off of Crimes. |

I think he found a pleasure in killing--It gave him this sense of power.. Each time it was a way to reflame his ego. The fortune teller tells him he will die; and cannot escape it. So he kills him. The girl looks at him weird--and laughs at him. So he kills her. It just became this buildup of murders. "You're like the stormy ocean now! Collecting death like driftwood!" But the heat warps it's flesh, you see the face of god in the tarry mess" His enjoyment--His step back up towards being the man he wants to be. I am looking at this from the standpoint of the War on Iraq. Though it most likely could be on war in general. This is the opinion of the invaded. There's people from the invaders back in the country with no problems, and they're almost celebrating their campaign. It really appears to be War on Iraq though--Like the American's try to say they are liberating the Iraqi's but here's the Iraqi's opinion. That's what I think. Burn Piano Island, Burn was mostly aimed for technological experimentation.. BUT there were strong messages in it. Mostly upon womanizing and women with a lack of respect for themselves. Now on this song... I'd say War on Iraq as well. Look back to Celebrator.. Celebrator seems like this celebration of intrusion. Devastator would be more the lines of the attempt of justification. "Everybody needs a little devastation" The Devastator is the United States.. That's my two bits. |
