| CHVRCHES – The Mother We Share Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I was wondering too that it might be about two different parts of a person. I guess many people talk to themselves as if to another person, like "hey, what are you doing?!" The song seems kind of mysterious though, and so does the video, especially the ending! So I am placing a bet that the two parts of a person are something like a higher and a lower self, or soul and ego. The singer is in the role of the higher self/soul. The mother is their common source, or God(dess). Their problem is spiritual fall, or separation from God. The soul-part retains the higher spiritual knowledge but it is suppressed by the ego, so these miserable twins just keep on plodding through the world until the ego wakes up and realizes that it should "go" back to the soul and thus restore the person's union with God. |

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?" - 1 Corinthians 6:19 Video - 4:10 Soul leaves body. Physical death or spiritual death. |

| Lana Del Rey – Video Games Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Lana del Rey is your Soul, or whatever you call it, talking to YOU. She is telling you that even though you are preoccupied with your pastimes and things of the world she loves you unconditionally and completely. If you understand this, now you love her too. Now listen to it again with this in mind. |

| Rihanna – Disturbia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Many interpretations can fit the song but there is something larger that unifies them all. Google the phrase "thief in the night". | |

I think it's about the apocalypse. "for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." - 1 Thessalonians 5:2 "God is a consuming fire." - Hebrews 12:29 "For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness." - 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 |

| Depeche Mode – Enjoy The Silence Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
After watching the Mike Shinoda remix video me thinks the song is about apocalypse. A warning, difficult and dangerous time, but flowers popping up everywhere in the end. Stop working and turn to God in silent meditation! ;) You can see both the original and the remix video when you go to http://video.google.com/ and type "depeche mode enjoy the silence" in the search bar. Btw, it's also about a relationship. Girls are very talkative ;) |

It's about apocalypse. He/she who retains loving balance walks into the light; others disappear into the darkness ;) Um, see the video: http://music.ninemsn.com.au/MediaPopup.aspx?MediaID=10558 |

I think too that it's "strung-out old stars". Also, when you listen carefully, he sings "we know how WE FELL (oh how WE FELL)" "Talking" might mean "creating". The term Logos (Word) in Greek philosophy denotes the divine tool of creation. When we name things we differentiate between them, thus becoming aware of their separate identities and bringing them into existence. When creation becomes disharmonious we fall and heaven changes to hell. I think this song is a wake-up call: The time has come to rise from the ashes. I think it's about temptations. Check out the video here: http://wmt.viva.t-bn.de/Ondemand/viva/ondemand/stars/moby/moby_extreme_ways_dsl.wmv Lots of sensuality. He would stand in line for that. Me too, I guess :( And still we know it will fall apart, like it always does. |

| R.E.M. – Leaving New York Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I think it's about a change in heart. Leaving the past which you once thought was enjoyable but now you realize it was just a dream, an illusion... the life has faded out. You find it in your heart It's pulling me apart Change... |

| Ana Johnsson – Life Lyrics | 21 years ago |

"Big bang making the walls come down For the children of the light I dive right in..." For comparison: "On the day the wall came down They threw the locks onto the ground And with glasses high we raised a cry for freedom had arrived On the day the wall came down The Ship of Fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night like paper doves in flight" -Pink Floyd, A Great Day For Freedom |

| Natalie Imbruglia – Diving in the Deep End Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Similar to Beauty on the Fire. About losing your balance. | |
| Natalie Imbruglia – Do You Love? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
For comparison: "Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond. Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond." -Pink Floyd, Shine On You Crazy Diamond |

Natalie confirmed that this song is about God/religion. And Love, of course. I would say it describes her spiritual awakening. |

| Natalie Imbruglia – Beauty On The Fire Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I guess it's about the danger of diving in the deep end. Becoming lost. Did you know what she sings at the end of this song? It can hardly be understood (at least in the album version) and it's not printed in the lyrics. But it is quite clear from concert recordings: "Could you watch me fall, could you watch at all, could you watch me fall, another night I'm gone, could you be lost too, is it gonna stop." Anyway, not "cover my decent", but "cover my DESCENT". Regarding this song, Natalie said it's about being attracted to things that are bad for you, and that when you have something negative it's good to imagine that you throw it into fire. |

It's part of the Publius enigma. I wouldn't say it's about the band. "On the day the wall came down We threw the locks onto the ground" For comparison: "Big bang making the walls come down For the children of the light" Ana Johnsson, Life |

| Avril Lavigne – How Does It Feel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
She seems to be switching between two perspectives: seeing what we all have in common (what unifies us), and seeing what differentiates us from others. Both perspectives are valid and important for harmonious life. I found something similar in Natalie Imbruglia's That Day: "We're all the same And no one thinks so And it's okay" |
