yeah the caps are kind of taking away from the song!! (sorry oofus!! LOL) its a bittersweet song.. i think its about ppl who share some special or rare interests which bond them in a kind of fascinating relationship, like its all too good to be true. For that period of time they cant believe how incredable each other are alike. but then reality kicks in and one person realises how different they lives really is aside from the interests... (im speaking from personal experience here) ...and so their relationship comes to an abrupt stop. |

well when i listen to it.. esp the " you like to think your never wrong" bits.. like, i feel its about children/adult relationships.. how the adult had suffered in the past under the hands of THEIR parents.....(eg. like not getting a good education.. not getting money, having to earn everything etc.) so the adult decides to take it all out on their kid, uncociously acting out their previous fears.. yet the 'you love the way i look at you' bits dont seem like its about that. so yeah.. i just listen to it when i have arguments with my parents... but im more with --angel fire--'s interpritation.. |

lolz..man this song is good~~ when i first heard it i actually thought it was " we were meant to live for summer's long "... arwells.. i first thought it was about him and his gf ..sumthing to do with suicide??.. but i was wrong.. well i looked it up.. and this is wot the lead singer had said. VH1: Tell me about "Meant to Live." Jonathan: It's a song I wrote in a period of my life when I was stuck in a rut. Although the song's in third person, I tend to think it's more about me. I sing the lyrics like that, talking about myself. The verses are a bit darker, going over failures of my own. The chorus is a little bit more hopeful. It's reminding myself that we're meant to live for more than a new car or a new TV, a new this that or the other" so there you go~~ all solved~ :] |
