I disagree. Yes, the band has a lot of religious undertones to their lyrics, but the Devil temping him doesn't make sense. I doubt the devil makes him or builds him up to tear him down.
I think it can be interpreted in a much more general way, like a bad relationship. |

For some reason I don't understand how this song could be about censorship. But that's just my opinion. I'll tell you why I think this. I think it's about Christianity -- or more specifically how Christianity is a pile of shit. Just look at the lyrics:
Man in the box = Jesus. He's dead and he ain't comin back. He's bruried in the shit that Christianity is bruried in.
Feed my eyes = The bible feeding everyone BS then closing your eyes off to any other beliefs contrary to what Christian doctorine stands on.
He who tries will be wasted = The average Christian -- a wasted person.
Dog who gets beat = Someone who sins then gets their nose shoved in shit by other Christians shoving a bible in his/her face.
And the biggest giveaway:
"Jesus Christ, Deny Your Maker" = clear enough to me.
