| Pink Floyd – High Hopes Lyrics | 21 years ago |

It's obviously David Gilmour talking about the absence of Roger Waters. He talks about all the mistakes they made, and how fame changed certain things. And that they're both still trying to "make it", but everything was better when they were together. The meaning is pretty obvoius when he says that "there's a ragged band that follows in out footsteps." Just from the over-all feel of the entire Division Bell album it seemed to me like David Gilmour was trying to make Roger Waters miss the band and come back. The big difference between Gilmour and Waters is that Gilmour never blamed anyone for the split up. Waters on the other hand blamed everyone but himself. Waters was egotistical, and money hungry. Gilmour's work was always IMO better. Yeah, the Wall was great, but Comfortably Numb, and Young Lust which IMO are the best songs off of the Wall were both written by Gilmour. Plus... you're not really likely to hear any songs off of The Final Cut or anything Waters did Post-Floyd on the radio, but Learning to Fly, and High Hopes, and On The Turning Away you hear in rotation. Just my opinion. But this song is kinda like Gilmour telling Water's he's missed. I'm sure Waters didn't care at all. |

The Love Spit Love version was about anorexia. Dunno how Brand New interprets it. |

WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP COMPARING THE WALL CD WITH THE FUCKING MOVIE? THE CD CAME FIRST, SO IF YOU'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE MEANING OF A SONG, DON'T BASE IT ON THE MOVIE, BECAUSE THE MOVIE HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH IT. OK? Thanks. :-) |

| Tom Petty – You Got Lucky Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The ultimate we might be breaking up but I still love you song. Amazing beat, and superb lyrics. One of Tom Petty's best. | |

Hmmm... How do I describe what was intended by this song? It seems like half of you think it's about drug addiction (particularly heroin), and half of you think it's about emotional detachment. But aren't they both basically the same thing, anyhow? |

| Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Almost Cut My Hair Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is wonderful, yet sadly, seldom brought up. To me it's one of the ultimate songs about freedom. It represents the most important kind of freedom... Personal freedom. The ability to be yourself. Everybody feels the pressure to follow the leader, and this song reminds us that it isn't necessary to be happy. | |

| Wow... This song is awesome. REALLY awesome. The meaning is obvious. I really dig it. | |
| Pink Floyd – The Dogs of War Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This song makes me really hate George Bush... I mean it totally fits to situations in the world right now. George Bush is Evil incarnate. And yes, I know this song is from 1987... I'm just saying it FITS right now. |

No song has ever hit my emotions harder than this one. It's beautiful, haunting, and meaningful. I heard that it was about AIDS. Or someone infected with AIDS, rather. Gavin is trying to reach them. |

| Madonna – Human Nature Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song is pretty self explainatory... People try to put her down for being herself, and she's basically saying take it or leave it. She is one of the few artists who say they don't care what people think, and you can actually believe them. This is one of her best songs in my opinion. |

| Madonna – Gone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Madonna's greatest songs are her sad ones, and MAN is this song great! This song is about Madonna loving someone, but the only way she feels that they will love her back is by changing herself, which she won't do. So the only thing she can do is "walk away", and try to let go. |

| Sublime – Boss DJ Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Boss DJ is basically Bradley telling the world that yeah, he may be addicted to heroin, but that's not who he is. He's a musician, and that's what's really important to him, not the drugs. It's not about him being weak. He wasn't. It's not about being in love with heroin. He wasn't. It's about him being a mistake making human being, and also about one of the many things that made Bradley happy... Music, in this case. |
