| Bob Dylan – If You See Her, Say Hello Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Gravity dwarf I really don't think you could be more wrong on this one. Dylan really isn't contradicting himself at all in the places you pointed out. The reason he says he's alright in some parts and then in others that he's not is because he wants her to think he's alright even though he's not because he knows she's not coming back and wants her to be happy. He says he won't stand in her way any longer, even though it hurts him. He tried to make her stay at one point but he's given up on it because he knows she wasn't happy there. He's not contradicting himself because he's talking about two different moments in time. And again when he says their seperation pierced him to the heart though they've never been apart, he's talking about his mindset at two different times. The realisation that a part of her was still with him didn't come until later, and even though a part of her is with him and they're not completely apart, he can still be upset that she is not physically there. It's a little like the way some people think about death. The person may be gone, but their memory and a part of them can live on inside of you. That doesn't mean it's irrational to be upset that they are gone. And he doesn't want her to know that he still misses her and thinks of her because he doesn't want to make himself vulnerable or feel like he is being a burden to her after she has 'freed' herself, but of course in reality he does still think of her and want to be with her. I don't think he thinks he's being ridiculous at all. He simply knows that she won't come back and that she is happier without him even though he still longs for her. |

| The Doors – Build Me A Woman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I understand it perfectly. I was referring to the way he phrased his comment | |
| Modest Mouse – 3rd Planet Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Maybe I'm completely off the mark here, but I always thought that the line "Your heart felt good it was drippin' pitch and made of wood." was comparing a heart to a fretboard...Made of wood...Dripping pitch as in musical pitch...A heart making beautiful music. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Missed Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| You have been in some fucked up relationships if this is a 'common cycle' for you. | |
| Neutral Milk Hotel – Snow Song Pt. 1 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The lyrics to this song are amazing. It's pure poetry. The words just flow together so nicely. I'm not sure what exactly this song is about, but the way its written is incredible. | |
| The Doors – Build Me A Woman Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I really don't think you should be commenting on any one elses intelligence.... | |
| The Doors – Horse Latitudes Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is the scariest song I've ever heard. I tried to play it for my friend and he turned it off after the first two lines and just said "thanks but I'd rather not be posessed by Satan today." | |
| The Clash – Clash City Rockers Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I'm more of a fan of their actual punk-rock (earlier) stuff... ever since the London Calling album the politics kinda dissolved... I mean, think 'Train In Vain', 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go' to name a few. Train in Vain was on London Calling.... |

| Dead Kennedys – Kinky Sex Makes the World Go 'Round Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This song is really scary if you actually think about it. I love how Jello can write about something so serious and frightening though, and still put a bit of dark humour in it. Also, Wuss Core, I agree with you except for this: Fuh. They'll never legalize pot either, they'll be no more people to fill their prisons. What is that supposed to mean? |

| Black Sabbath – Paranoid Lyrics | 21 years ago |

"no not really... zakk's an amazing guitarist, and randy's a legend.. and top polls are one's opinions.. the number 1 guitarist in my opinion is Stevie Ray Vaughan.. but most of you will disagree.." I couldn't agree more. Here's my list: 1. Stevie Ray Vaughan 2. Jimi Hendrix 3. Randy Rhoads 4. Eddie Van Halen 5. Robby Kreiger I know a lot of people would disagree with that last one. Just my own personal opinion. |

| Led Zeppelin – That's the Way Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is my absolute favorite song of all time. I really believe that it is the most beautiful song ever written. | |
| Common Rider – Small Pebble Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Nothing compares with Last Wave Rockers | |
| Common Rider – Angels At Play Lyrics | 21 years ago |

One more correction: Don't you know there ain't no other way? should be: Don't you know that in my heart there ain't no other way? |
|
| Common Rider – Carry On Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is my favorite song by Common Rider. It's just impossible to be sad listening to it! | |
| Common Rider – Classics of Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this song. Common Rider is unbelievable. Jesse Michaels is my favorite lyricist and I'm glad he wrote something positive with them after all the depressing lyrics he wrote with operation ivy. I'm really surprised there are so many fans of these guys on here. No one even knows who they are where I'm from. :( It took me over a year just to find last wave rockers | |
| The Doors – American Night Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is just about having a good time in life and not worrying so much about what comes after. | |
| The Doors – An American Prayer Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I have to disagree with you. This song is clearly about a lot more than just 'life.' A lot of it is about war and the media's coverage of it: "Do you know we are being led to Slaughters by placid admirals, And that fat slow generals are getting Obscene on young blood? Do you know we are ruled by TV?" Also, the parts that are about life aren't that simple. I think he's saying that people who are alive are not really LIVING. Jim really believed that a lot of us just go through the motions in life, and never really experience it. We are 'asleep' he would say. He even took to yelling "Wake up!" into the audience at various points throughout the doors concerts. |
