if i had to take a stab at the meaning... id think itd be about having a friend/girl try hard to get really close to you, but in the end it just ruins it all. The writer still primises to keep in touch, although the person the song refers to screwed up something important. |

I think it's more about a guy who doesn't want to be single and looking, judging by the being afraid of 'open water'. Goes with the whole 'fish in the sea' thing. But then, he likes the sex, so he pretty much is saying theres no chance for a relationship, but the warmth is coaxing them into the bed. |

Hm.. If I had to make a guess to the meaning of this song, I think it ties in with Hang 'em High. Since Hang 'em High's about.. well.. ehrm.. Frienship and fighting side by side, I'd guess that this is about that person stabbing him in the back. That's how the end of the album seems to end. The first CD, 'I brought you my bullets...' seemed about living your life to the end with your love, and eventually to the death of a thousand men.. This CD is about that girl stabbing you in the back. Cemetary Drive talks about pretty much the aftermath thoughts of the treachery, and I Never Told you What I Did For a Living about.. well.. killing her.. and yourself. Get what I'm saying? |
