everyone else: i don\'t understand why being popular is equivalent to selling out. to me, selling out means that you stop making the music you love to make music you don\'t, but that will give you profit. that\'s selling out. being programmed through a media channel like MTV or VH1 or X network is only giving music to the people. and they take what they like and they don\'t what they don\'t. of course there\'s britney, and usher and emishit but hey, there\'s sparta and tbs and all of those great bands that people get to know THANKS to MTV. Besides, stop wishing for your artists not to sell stuff, that\'s what they live with, what gives them food, what will pay for their retirement. imagine if your artist\'s music wouldn\'t sell and it\'s a great album... there won\'t be another one because they won\'t have the money to finance it. let alone touring. so be supportive and vote for them on TRL or whatever shit you watch and help them climb to the top. great bands have been in the top by being popular and MTV transmitted. |

Oh, and cotignac, Kurt was about to retire. He didn't enjoy being famous. And he was about to ask Courtney for divorce. I personally believe Courtney couldn't handle the idea that she wouldn't be recieving any more money from him, and made this huge merch out of his death. She killed him, or she hired someone to do it (like that punk rock guitarist who confessed that Courtney offered him money to kill Kurt. You'll always live, Kurt. |

to me it's about some girl (girlfriend?friend? don't know) that suddenly dies. he knows he will be in this world for such a long time that he will miss her too much, and writes this song. i don't believe he means he will never see her again, like in heaven, but i do believe the "never coming home" part is exactly about that she died, she is never, ever coming back home, and he will miss her because he loves her so much (as a friend, as a girlfriend, as a mother, whatever). it's very simple to me. anyway, i think this is the best song on the CD. definitely. |

you can refer to your dad or someone in your family as "my love", because simply you love him. It's not weird, at least from a foreign perspective (Mexico). I believe he tells him "my love" not as in a gay/coupling way, but as a family loving way. I don't see anything strange in it.
Great song, by the way. Luckily I still have my dad around, but this is the way I think I'm gonna feel when he leaves... like a cat in a bag... |

Read Plato. I think this song has A LOT to do with Dialogues. Everything starts from opposites and dies in opposites. It's the way the mind fools the soul (knowledge) and eventually destroys him. With or without John, TBS is one of my favorite bands, ever. John made the band sound different, but I do like, a LOT, the new sound. It's a little less, raw, but I don't think that takes off quality. I do like the new sound, as well as the old one. And NO, i do not think TBS will end up being another NFG. God, NO. I think of it as a progression, not regression, just like Brand New's Deja Entendu. Both are different, but I think both are musically more profoundly made. The chords in the guitars are not that repetitive, the lyrics not so visceral... I loved the old TBS and I still love the new one. Fell in love with this song, actually. This one, along with Ghost man on third and There's no I in team are my faves. Oh and Lost And Found.
I actually feel there's a more mature sound in Adam's voice, he educated his voice and melody as well. He can reach higher tones. And I like that.
Way to go, TBS, and welcome Fred and the new soul he brings to TBS. Long life. Good things. Rock. |
