U2 – North and South of the River Lyrics 21 years ago
Sorry I don't know how to spell...My computer is slow today.

I meant to say grace...not grae...

and complete not compelte...

I'm not sure if this is a specific place...but the theme is universal. Once again, we have another stellar song about love, grae, forgiveness...basically dealing with life in spite of the hurt.

There is some kind of separation here...mabye between lovers, friends, or God and creature. It's probably all three...but there is not a compelte break.

This is one of those songs that is sad and comforting all at the same time!

The Rolling Stones – You Can't Always Get What You Want Lyrics 21 years ago
I really have no idea what this song means. Y'all have added some good theories.

I would think the different verses are all episodes of the narrator's life when he's seen examples of this wisdom. I'm not sure if they're all that connected.

The chorus has some of the wisest words I've ever heard. "You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need." So true. So true!

The Band – The Weight Lyrics 21 years ago
This is an awesome song, one that I've never really thought about the lyrics too...It's surely about community and does sound very Biblical. Jesus said to cast all our cares on him (Matthew 11:29-20 & 1 Peter 5:7).

However, I have NO idea who all the people are in this song and if they stand for something. Any ideas?

Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved Lyrics 21 years ago
She will be loved, but isn't right now? It sure sounds like from the lyrics she IS being loved (though may not be loving back). Sounds like a complicated relationship to me.

John Cale – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics 21 years ago
This song bespeaks Biblical references, but also deals with the same things--struggling to praise God in the middle of a messy life. It may be cold, but it's still praise.

Anyway, I found a link while searching for Leonard Cohen that explains this song quite well:
