"I don't know if it is cultural to any degree, but in California, and warmer waterful climates, folks go "tubing" where they literally take a truck's tire tube and ride it down rivers, or on lakes, behind boats."
No shit?!?!?! That's awesome! Maybe that'll catch on in another state soon!
Leave California once in a while douchebag, not everything happens just there. |

Hmmm... Love Ryan, hate this song. Even hate a la Ryan.
I don't understand why a song like this is released to radio when gold nuggets like "Shadowlands" or "Political Scientist," or oldies but goodies like "La Cienega" are just waiting to be discovered. Ryan, you have such better song-writing capabilities than covering a song from a shitty English band! |

I think I read that this has something to do with Ryan being artistically imprisoned while he was with Whiskeytown, even though the song was written after they broke up. |

| Ryan Adams – Gonna Make You Love Me Lyrics

This is the second time Adams mentions amphetamines... he mentions in "Shadowlands" too...
I believe this goes beyond just a "relationship."
Dora probably got it right. It probably has something to do with a girl selling out and doing drugs (sweet amphetamines), getting plastered and dancing in clubs (bottles and the cans; the idiots go dance), and about how it all seems so innocent and fun at first (i'll come to you like a little girl), but once you start, you fall deeper and deeper into that lifestyle (it's only gonna make me love you more). |

I can't believe there are only two comments on this song. By far Adams's best song yet.
I don't know where he gets the inspiration for this stuff. The lyrics for this one are real; they're coming from somewhere.
It conveys the strains of a relationship (looks like a marriage to me) that's going nowhere fast. |
