and yeah, i guess things could be this deep in her music (what everyone has been mentioning about sexual oppression and cherries and stuff) because she herself said that these words are her diary, her life, and totally biographical. I don't think she pulls words out of her ass for the sake of rhyming. :) |

There aren't many songs I consider "soothing" or "feel-good" or whatever, songs I can listen to on repeat for hours and feel better and calm... But along with JCale's "Magnolia", this is one of them. Absolutely gorgeous, and very effective. Most songs I listen to and love for a catchy beat or poem, but this one has impact on my emotions, in a very strong and very good way (unlike 'Wishful thinking', by wilco, which always has me dying inside..)

I fully agree...
I find her to be a very lovely woman. I don't know much about her at all but do you really have to know someone to know how lovely they are? Just listen to her music, to her unique voice, and you'll find a powerful beauty there. America is shallow and narrowminded, yes. They're all like "Oh you're gay? You're not beautiful because you're gay. Oh you aren't tall and thin and lean-muscled and buried beneathe good makeup and fashion? Oh dear, you're not beautiful."
When can they stop judging a woman's true beauty based on her appearance and sexual orientation and "abnormalities"? Beauty is the soul. And KD Lang is beautiful. Just listen to her and hear what she has to say. |

i've never thought about drug addictions when i listened to this song but it makes so much sense to me. i don't think dido could be THAT possessive of a person...but a drug could be and she knew it... ahhh where'd you find that kind of info, browneyed? |

this sort of reminds me of myself...finding love and comfort in the people and places anyone would truly least expect. this guy found acceptance in hell. noone does, usually... i found love in a teacher i can never tell. i find comfort in dark closed spaces... i find truth in the very ugliest of hearts. ofcourse i find everything that needs to be found in the people and places and truths noone ever wants to look. |

this song is truly immensely beautiful to me. just recently i found how truly inneed of a mother (who loves me) i was. and i found someone i love dearly.. and this song reminds me of her in everyway (except for the wanting to take off her dress) and it's funny...because my art teacher was the one who took this wilco cd with this song as the first one on it, from HER to play in our class...
