| I completely agree with himtopia - the lyrics just can't be separated from the music, and by just reading them you would have no clue about the incredible sexual energy that's portrayed in the song. They're amazing in that they can flawlessly synchronize all these contradicting aspects of human nature. Digital Bath is about overwhelming love, raw sex, and cold-blooded murder. Name one other song that can portray all these things simultaneously! | |

Well i definitely think war is part of it, but i dont think that its exclusively about that. i think he is also referring to the awesome power of the media (like in Talk Shows on Mute) - 'we think for you, we built your young' (BTW "we build your hill" should be "we built your young" which makes much more sense doesnt it?) the media is so all-corrupting and distorts everything we see or read; history is repeating and we are all passively sitting by and letting it happen, because the media makes it so hard to 'focus'. |

"I was on my way to the center of the sun when i lost my wings" This is what happened to Icarus in the Greek myth where they make wings out of wax and he disobeys his father and flies too close to the sun and plummets to his death. In the song he suffers a worse fate by being buried alive - a worse consequence for disobeying authority? Whatever the song means, I feel it can't be as simplistic as being about "waking up and realising things". Like the Icarus reference, surely there's a bit more to it? :cow: |
