half the straylight songs have comments saying "it's about adam and john fighting." what bullshit. I'm sure some of them are- maybe even this one- but not THAT MANY. I have more faith in John Nolan than to be that pathetic and defensive.

hmm i don't know about anyone else but to me the lyric in
"She's only been five months late, even though we haven't had sex for a week"
might be wrong cause to me it doesn't sound like week but eight or wait. it doesn't make a whole lot of sense with week. on the other hand most of the song is nonsense! i don't know, something might be wrong with my head. Who cares anyway i love this song no matter what that lyric is. And i don't think it has a meaning cause the band- or at least kurt- is obviously drunk or stoned. |

i think personifythelies is right about overanalyzing the music, just enjoy it and find a meaning that fits u is wut i say. To me this song is a drug reference. The line "your eyes..." is what made me think this at first cause when u get stoned usually ur eyes get red. And then the lines "teacher said" and "preacher said" kinda push that idea cause it's not that unbelieveable for a teacher, preaher or some other authority figure questioning u if they thought u were on drugs. i don't know that just wut i think.... |

hmm I don't like courtney love, I think she's really quite annoying, but I do fucking love this song. It has so much raw emotion and the vocals just sound so fuckign great on this track.
I don't think this song is about anything specific, and if it is then well that's fine too, because music is just such an incredible thing that it can be different to everyone and you can put your own meaning to the words, weather its about the author's past loves or something personal to you.
I don't see how we're getting anywhere with fighting over meanings and opinions on an event that happened over 10 years ago. It doesn't matter if she killed him or not because he is dead regardless (by hte way I'm completely on the suicide side) and it doesn't matter if this song was written about billy corgan or kurt cobain or anyone, jsut accept that it's a great piece of music. |

This is a great song and a fantastic way to start off in utero. I basically agree w/ every interpuration of the song that's already been said and really i'm only posting this comment in reference to the murder/suicide fight above.
Personally i think he killed himself. Because I am bipolar and its something that could easily draw someone sufferign from it too that end. I don't condole what he did but I'm not going to lie to myself and call him a martyr who died bravely by the hand of the enemy...because i think the last thing he did was pretty fucking dumb. People don't realize how much committing sucide will truely affect the people around you (and in this case around the world). WTF?! the 80's? david gilmour is in the 80's?! ok yes hta list is completely incorrect! pete townsend should have been higher, Tony Iommi should have been higher, paige deserves a top 5, and kurt cobain is not a better guitarist than carlos santana. Nirvana is a great band(my fav.), they were talented, but that doesn't make him in the top 15 of hte best guitarists of all time. and yes good charlotte does blow.

1st- no shit this isn't the best nirvana song, all apologies is cause that had the most raw emotion
2nd- to mortha, i plan to read 'heavier than heaven' but seriously i've been reading these things and everyone blames that one incedant w/ the retarded girl for his genius! i dont' even know if i believe it ever happend!
