Franz Ferdinand – So Come On Home Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't think it's about revenge at all, really. I think the point of the song is, he really cares about the gal, he wants her, but in the end he knows it just isn't possible. He wants her to come back to him and be with him, but he also realizes that it wouldn't work and that, other then being apart, everything is going well and it would be best not to disrupt that, despite strong feelings. Kind of a right person, wrong time thing.

Franz Ferdinand – Auf Achse Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't think the last part of the song is actually about the crucifixtion of Jesus. I think he was using that as a metaphor and an analogy. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I'm supposing that it's about a guy loves a girl, but she doesn't share his feelings and he wasts a lot of time over her, which is bad because she's really bad for him. The final part suggests that he feels that he's suffered greatly because of her, as if she's crucified him, and he's basically a goner. Usually I'm better at wording this stuff, but for some reason I can't right now.

Franz Ferdinand – Jacqueline Lyrics 19 years ago
jerem, that's interesting. I never saw the album that way. I don't thik the songs were written to fit together like that, but I can see how they could tell that story.

Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out Lyrics 19 years ago
dank22, no, it's definitlely "broken shattered I lie". I know that for a fact.

DieKaede, I see no reason to believe it's about a homosexual relationship. There's no evidence of it even being about a romantic relationship within the lyrics.

Franz Ferdinand – Michael Lyrics 19 years ago
Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. Yes, I think it was brave, but only because people make such a huge deal out of stuff like this. It's really ridiculous.

For the record, I've read several times that the real Michael is straight, but had a homosexual fling in a bar with another friend of the band's, who's also straight. FF thought it'd be fun to write a song about it, so they did. What honestly makes the song so much different then any other song out there? The only thing that makes it shocking is that it's so rare for people to treat something such as gay flirtation as something normal and cool. I don't think it's supposed to be deep, and I don't think it's supposed to send a message to society. I think they just wanted to write a fun song about a fun night they had with a couple of friends. Simple as that.
