Before I say this let me say I have alot of southern friends. They are not all racists but the confederate flag is a racist symbol. How does this sound lacy?
The Nazi flag stands for us trying to become our own empire of right thinking peoples. A lot of our ancestors died because of it. It's our way of showing them that we have not forgotten them and the fight they had to fight. And just for the record anhilating the jews was not the reason we wanted to become our own empire. A lot of it had to do with our neighbors and how we felt that WWI was unfair in it's conclusion to the Germans. That is the reason we proudly fly the flag. Anti-Semitism has nothing to do with it. This should not offend anyone. Some people just like to bitch about anything they can. In the same theory I should be able to tell you not to wear a certain color shirt b/c that offends me. The way I see it if you don't like it, don't look at it! |

I think the writer is trying to say "slow down, relax". The diamond watch reference is to show that to this woman time is very valuable. Of course it would be nice to have the kind of life where you can disregard time, but we can't all be rock and roll stars. |

The best version of this song is on Robert Fripps "Exposure" album. Fripp wrote a piece called "Water Music" that is a product of his guitar tape loop experiments. It really elevates the song over what it was. |
