i think that this song is about the author being in love with some girl who got really into drugs and such. "There are some who say That it's a-okay If it makes you feel all right It's just way too bad Now you're worse than sad All locked up there in side" this girl has totally changed and the author knows that they will never be together but hes telling her that he loves her and will always be there for her. "They locked you up They threw away the key." "they" is rufurring to the drugs that changed this girls personallity. well thats what i got from it. i love alkaline trio |

| when i heard this song i thought of someone who likes someone a real lot. they thought that this person liked them too but then they realize that this person never really had feelings for them "Consider the odds, consider the obvious. when i first heard this song i didnt think of a breakup at all. i thought of it like person 1 is in love with person 2 but they are not sure if person 2 loves them back. "The first star I see may not be a star. We can't do a thing but wait. So let's wait for one more." person 2 does or says something to person 1 but person 1 isnt sure if its because they love them or they are just friends. person 1 is scared to make a move because they are scared it will ruin the friendship if person 2 doesnt have the same feelings "The time such clumsy time in deciding if it's time. I'm careful but not sure how it goes. You can loose yourself in your courage. The mindless comfort grows when I'm alone with my 'great' plans." when person 1 thinks about everything person 2 has said to them they think that "yeah they really do feel the same" and person 1 build up all this confidence but when a time comes to make a move they dont because they still have doubts about person 2's true feelings.
