My American Heart – Tired And Uninspired Lyrics 18 years ago
And I think it's, "Oh then our flame" in the second verse.

Not digging the strings version so much. I think the strictly piano version had a rawness to it that I miss.

Well, it's my favorite.

Almost two years later and this song is still amazing.

In an interview, Dia said that it's not about God since they're Agnostic and Athiest. She said it was about Meg's ex-boyfriend.

Nick said,
"The song is about a girl that catches her guy with another girl, so she poisons him and sews him into her matress. Then she has "sexual relations" with other dudes on the matress."

The Dresden Dolls – Backstabber Lyrics 19 years ago
And all along, I thought she was singing:

"backstabber, backstabber, backstabber, backstabber, back, stab her back, stab her back, stab her back, stab her back, etc.."

I'm going to agree with you, Phrenchorn. I guess some songs can be really literal, with the "Work and play, they're never ok to mix the way we do." Great song though, Work and Polaris are my fave. Heh.

K wow. I hate it when you think that someone's left some insight into the meaning of the song only to find out it's another comeback between two opposing views. K, get each other's sns or whatever and battle it out there.

Anyway, I'm starting to agree with Kif on this one.

This is a great song. I took this as someone, preferably a woman, who's brushing off this relationship.

I agree with both of you. I keep imagining in the end, a guy whose trapped in a subway station with people trying to get him to conform. And how he just wants to get out of there.

Keane – We Might As Well Be Strangers Lyrics 21 years ago
There was definitely something good there that ended. Great song.

I like the bonus version more, but both are good. Though it kind of reminds me of a DDR song, especially the chorus =P

Jimmy Eat World – Polaris Lyrics 21 years ago
Great song!

I think this song is the type that talks about looking into the sky, at polaris perhaps, knowing that whomever you care for could be looking at it the same time you are, and that it's kind of their sanity in a time of need. Like in the lyric, "In your darkest time, it's just enough to know it's there."
